“There are no wrong answers at Toshi 1.0. Probably the best sushi I've ever had. The presentation is meticulously artistic, and the flavor is choice, delicate, and thoughtful. The friendly staff here at this little hole in the wall will serve you a rolled up bit of heaven sliced into 6 pieces and garnished with some ginger and wasabi, and the only downside is that you may never look at sushi from any other restaurant the same again.“

“I was not prepared to like this place as much as I did. We loved Crazy Sushi Fever and were so sad to see them leave. But after trying Chitose we are feeling much better about the transition. Very yummy rolls, good customer service and quality seafood. I especially enjoyed the spicy tuna handrolls with avocado! Yummm. They were adorable and so sweet towards my son. Made him a mini roll so he wouldnt have trouble eating. Too cute. Looking forward to our next visit!“

“My girlfriends threw me a party here for my birthday and the service was absolutely wonderful. There were so many of us and yet the food arrived quickly, all the orders were correct and delicious. Great drink selection, fun sushi dishes like Sushi Pizza! We cannot thank you enough for the accommodating service and incredible food!“

“A wonderful spot for traditional Japanese. The sushi bar is fresh fresh fresh w-delicacies that aren’t always easy to find, the cooked foods were delicious and savory. Service was perfect and the price was fair. Run by a woman who took it over from her father. What more is there to say!? Go!!!“

“Excellent service, delicious, and very reasonable priced. If you are traveling through Paso Robles, Ca. Do yourself a favor and stop here for a bite. Today I ordered the Alaskan roll, and pretty sure the rest of menu is as delicious. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend. Goes well with a cold beer? I came back and once again it was a home run!! I will definitely make this sushi restaurant a favorite stop for me! Outstanding service and quality, very reasonable prices and an excellent atmosphere to relax and have a great meal. Stop and treat yourself, highly recommend!“

“Great food and hospitable service. I highly recommend. My only suggestion would be to turn down the music, and don’t aim cleansing spray toward customers while they’re eating. But don’t let that stop you from enjoying the terrific food. I suggest the Loco Roll.“

“I live close to Umi so I go in a few times a week for the Umi Special. My family and I go in at least once a month and my kids LOVE sushi! When I take them, its definitely not a cheap dinner. we spend just under $200. I order the same thing every time for the special. This last time I went in the chef refused to make the change I always ask for. I'm just not a fan of spicy tuna so I ask to switch out the spicy tuna for spicy crab. this one particular chef just wouldn't do it. That's fine, but I feel like it should be equal across the board. It's not right as a loyal customer I have been ordering the same thing for SO LONG, and then one guy just didn't feel like doing it. A little disappointing but oh well. I came to Jin instead :)“

“Truly, a hidden gem in the central California coastal area. Tucked away in the quaint El Paseo shops area just off Traffic Way. A rare find and worth the drive between SF and LA along the 101. An excellent selection of fresh sashimi and sushi dishes, a bit of kushi-katsu, and a variety of salads. The miso-shiru soup it tasty. Several varieties of draft beer on tap, bottle beer, as well as seasonal sake selections, and of course chu-hai's. Sodas and Ramune for the tee-totalers. The decor is a unique blend of old fishing gear, fantasy steam-punk furnishings, and displays of Japanese knick-knacks, all in a tiny three-table arrangement. This is not a run of the mill Japanese restaurant (as there are many within the vicinity). This is definitely a place for sushi and sashimi aficionados who enjoy high-end, quality foods in a tiny setting.“
