“I am a huge fan of Kokku! I crave their California rolls, best in the county. I like the texture, they make everything fresh and it shows. It comes with a super tasty slaw and the portion is great. It is located right near California Fresh in Pismo, just off the 4th St. exit of the 101. It is very clean, quiet and relaxed inside, with a couple of tables outside. The staff is fast and friendly. I am happy to support this fine local business.“

We called ahead to make a reservation, and Gustavo was incredibly accommodating and managed to get us a table right away.
Everything we ordered was incredibly tasty, but the absolute highlight of the meal was definitely the Yellowtail Collar (Hamachi Kama)—it was perfectly grilled, rich, and flavorful.
We also really enjoyed the classic izakaya standard, the Agedashi Tofu (v Perfectly cooked tofu and delicious sauce) and comforting Kitsune soba as well as the perfectly crispy Chicken Karaage served with that delicious spiced mayo dip.

If you're looking for high-quality, authentic Japanese comfort food in SLO, this is a must-visit spot. Great food and even better hospitality!“

“I had dinner in Paso a week ago. I noticed when I was looking on line at my bank withdraws they charged me twice. It was 12.60 and showed the next day the same charge. Whice was the same day we went in to tell them. We only ate there the one time. We went in to talk to a manager and he wasn't there. The girl working called him. (The owner)He wasn't very good with his customer service. He wanted us to come back the next day at 4 and he'd look at it. He should have told her to just take care of us. I had printed out my statement to show them. We've been eating there for as long as they've been open. I left irritated, it wasn't a 50.00 charge. It was under 13.00. Long story short I went to my bank and they stopped the second charge. Now I will only use cash if I go in there. The owner should have just taken care of us! Food is always good. Ate in the one in San Luis Obispo and they were good also. Just disappointed how he didn't handle it.“

“I had a wonderful dining experience here today. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served with great care.

I especially loved the salmon dish, which was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully with orange slices. The soup was equally delicious and hit the spot. I will definitely be back for another meal soon.“

“Hadn't been in here for a couple of years and was pleasantly surprised. I always liked them for their cheap lunch boxs before, but previously was underwhelmed with their dinner. We stopped in for dinner with our daughter. She was excited about the sushi and the seaweed salad, but most importantly really enjoyed the fish tank. I ordered off of the 1/2 price rolls menu since it used to be a decent deal even though the rolls were smaller... well boy was I wrong this time. My first roll was the paradise roll and it was HUGE. It was basically a sushi roll with a sushi salad on the side. The staff was friendly, the food was really good and fresh and the value is great!“

“This is an amazing hole in the wall that has obvious regulars. The sushi is extremely good and high quality, the sushi bar staff are super stars. They accommodate children so well and give that extra special touch for kids. I am not from here but if I was i would eat here as often as possible just for the food and lovely staff“

“This was my first time there and it was good , nice atmosphere and plenty of Choices on the menu . I had the poke bowl even though it was good I felt the tuna was not very fresh almost tasted like it was frozen . Not really what I expect from a restaurant like this . My partner had one of the noodle bowls and that was absolutely delicious enough for two people no doubt . Our table was very wobbly and not very comfortable . They had complimentary lemon water and cucumber water which as absolutely delicious ! I definitely would come back again and try some other items on their menu“
