“We are old regular customers who have not been here in quite a while. We were in town and stopped in to get a bite. This always was and still is the best Chinese food in the Atwater area. Super nice family friendly and family owned. I recommend the salt and pepper ? fish.“

“My family has gone here for years, anyone can have an off day, I've never had one here. The food is great, I can take the buffet to go & still order things not at the buffet at the same time. The portions are well worth the money.
Parking: In front of restaurant, across the street & a parking lot (free) across the street.
Kid-friendliness: Plenty of places to sit the kids, they have high chair seats, special items on menu for kids.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get in & out & they help dish you up if you want.“

“As a customer i think is not right that you go and you get treated with attitude just because you ask for sweet and sour sauce they gave me 3 packages like the fast food restaurant style ketchup packages so i ask for more and she answered with attitude saying that there only allowed to give 3 little packages per customer because they had to save them for the entries“

“This is a great place for cheap Chinese food. The qaulity is decent, and the service is very friendly. Edit: Updating to 5 stars, this is in my top two fav Chinese places in Merced. Can't beat the value for the price here.
Parking: In front of restaurant.“

“This restaurant is in an old neighborhood and looks run down. The mens' room is dirty and smells bad. Now, the important stuff. Food is excellent and portions are large. All appetizers are meal-sized. Especially recommend the pot stickers, which come with a SPICY chili sweet and sour sauce, and the chicken and broccoli, which simply tasted good. Service is a bit slow but atmosphere is friendly enough. Recommended.“

“Wow. I’m super impressed w the change. I used to love Hong Kong but the prices got too high and the portions shrank. The next new owners changed the recipe of a lot of classics so I stopped eating there the past few years. Fast forward to today when I was walking by and noticed the Under New Management sign so I thought I’d give it another try. I ordered the combo plate for $11.95. Fried rice, s&s pork & chow mein noodles. (The chow mein noodles come w egg & pork but the single order of chow mein has more veggies, etc.) The pieces of pork are big and the sauce has a good taste. Let me tell you, the portions are HUGE. The plate was so heavy, I had to weight it. It was 3.25 lbs. That’s a lot of food. Nothing more could fit in the container. The prices are way lower too. The most expensive item is $14.95 (hong kong special for a minimum 2 people) but most are $7.95-$12.95 and you get plenty. I’d order one item for each person and share. My other family members saw my plate and had to try it the next day. They ordered the Mongolian beef (a lil spicy but tolerable for non spicy eaters like me) and chow mein. Both were heaping full plates of fresh, hot and delicious food cooked to order. If you prefer less spicy, just ask them to alter it. I can’t wait to try more of the many, many options available. I’m so excited to have a new place to eat right across the street from me that I can afford weekly. Remember, it’s under new management so give it a try! It’s worth it.
Edit: After trying this restaurant under the new owner a few times, I’d highly recommend skipping the cheaper combo plate ($11.95) and ordering individual dishes. The lower price combo is tempting and you get a lot but the extra few dollars for the special versions is way better. The reason is because the rice and chow mein noodles you get w the combo are their basic version. The rice has egg and pieces of pork, and the chow mein noodles have egg, bean sprouts and slices of pork on top. But when you order them individually off the menu, order the special rice so that you get all the extras like peas,, etc. Same w the chow mein. Order the special chow mein dish because it has a lot of vegetables that aren’t in the basic chow mein noodles included w the combo plate. If you look at the pictures, you’ll see what I mean about the combo plate rice & chow mein and the rice & chow mein ordered as individual dishes. This is most likely why there is such a discrepancy between reviews. Some people ordered the combo plates and were disappointed not knowing that some of the dishes were the basic versions. I’m wondering if they’d feel the same if they tried the special versions? Take my advice… Order off the menu and not the combo plate.“

“I will start by saying this review will hurt me(exposing this great hidden panda to the public).
This is the best Panda Express in a 40-mile radius. The service is fast. Because there is rarely a long line during lunch hours, you can regularly get in and out quickly Monday- Friday between 11:00am-2:00pm The food is always well cooked and tastes great. The staff are polite, friendly, and tidy. This adds up to an overall more positive experience.
This location does have a drive-through for convenience, and you can order in advance to speed things up.
The parking lot has some trees that were planted a few years ago, so there is some shade, and this will get better over time, and the bathrooms are clean. It is very close to the freeway entrance. It is, therefore, an ideal place for a quick stop. This place does have a wheel chair accessible ramp, so you can role your loved ones in to accompany you for a warm meal.
Parking: Therebare approximately 30 parking spots. This location shares parking lots with Rancho San Miguel supermarket so there is plenty of additional space if you cant get into the Panda lot.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessible ramps“

“I go here often with my boyfriend, and the food is amazing! The people who work here are very nice, and they're always giving large portions. I think the only con is that it is inconsistent sometimes, but the main thing we get is sesame chicken, its usually the most consistent and their chicken is amazing when its extra crispy. The chowmein with bean sprouts is also amazing.“
