“The quabili pallow was so bomb! Actually my first time having afghan cuisine but I’m in love. (I personally feel like it’s a blend of middle eastern and Indian cuisine? I could be ignorant) I didn’t expect the yogurt drink to be a savory drink but I guess I need some more research on it. It also kinda makes sense as it balances out the fatty meat. The rice pudding also melts in ur mouth. Not too sweet with a hint of cardamom.“

“Hands down best Gyro I’ve had since visiting Denmark. The seasoned fries paired with their ranch and smokey barbecue sauces were divine. The atmosphere is very friendly and the dine-in aesthetic was quaint. HIGHLY recommend OakTown Kabobs with my boy Farzad.“

“I just had an amazing meal at this Afghan restaurant in San Francisco! I’ve tried a bunch of Afghan spots around the city, and this one totally stole the show. The Tekka and chicken kebob were juicy and packed with flavor—honestly, I couldn’t stop raving about them at the table. Vegetable dish (Palag) was just as tasty as I had back home. I am a bit too picky on baklava but theirs was the best I’ve ever had in the US! So fresh, moist, and not too too sweet. I’m still dreaming about it. The vibe was cozy, and Jayhoon Jan made us feel right at home. If you’re craving Afghan food that’ll blow your mind, you’ve gotta check this place out!“

“the food was entirely Afghani IMHO, and according to some younger Afghani guests. I had lamb kabob and Afghani rice, two felafel and ferni [Afghani custard]. Rice delicious. Unlike any rice anywhere. Kabob definitely helal, tender, more cooked than an American would cook it but a lot less than a Turk. And full of flavour some of which I'm at a loss to identify, something enhancing its 'meatiness'. I don't know Afghani herbs/spices. I ate too too much. The mango lassi is just creamily heavenly
It's not the Ritz. Family run restaurant with a traditional Afghani sofra to eat at if you don't like a table and chairs“

“I enjoyed the falafel wrap sandwich. The bread was soft and fresh. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The falafel was kind of different. Like chickpea French fries. The service was friendly and helpful. The ambiance needs some work. Otherwise, it's a nice new place in my neighborhood!“
