Fish and Bird is an all around ripoff.
Low quality fish (both frozen and stale) which the owner admits, though they charge more than the most expensive restaurants in the entire Bay Area (avg. $20-22 for two pieces).

One of the worst meals I've ever had in terms of price to quality.
Not authentic Japanese food. Definitely not an izakaya.
The waiters aggressively upsell you. The food isn't properly seasoned. The clam dish was full of broken clams. The chicken was not correctly fried or seasoned. The tempura was greasy. The kaisen don was close to $50 and the fish was not exceptional.
