My experience at Passione Caffè in their gorgeous two-story, well-decorated café at 91 Shattuck Square was simply marvelous. The staff was friendly, quick, and accommodating and the food, drinks, and desserts were delicious! I highly recommend Passione Caffè to those looking for a quick and yummy lunch (or breakfast/brunch everyday), to snack and study, or for an authentic Italian coffee. Located in a quiet neighborhood, this restaurant is cozy, clean, and has great ambience. The service is friendly, attentive, and sincere. The food is delicious, with everything made fresh. The Roman-style pizza (pinza) is excellent; it is a pinzo basso with vegetables on a thinnish crust. The peanut-butter gelato is dense and flavorful. The lunch special—soup, salad, and slice—is fantastic. The vegetable minestrone soup is hearty and nicely seasoned. The side salad is made with a variety of greens. There are several salad, pizza, and pasta selections. Pasta and gelato are made on site. There is a short wine and beer list with mostly Italian selections. The restaurant decor is bright and cheery, with lovely outdoor seatings on the sidewalk. It is a great place to meet up with an old friend and enjoy a leisurely dinner with wine.
