Highly underrated! My favorite Nepalese/Indian restaurant in Berkeley. The food is consistently delicious, not too oily or salty and full of flavor. The naan is also some of the best I've had anywhere. Would recommend the chili momos, chicken tikka masala, and saag paneer, but it's hard to go wrong.

Small portions, high prices.I've revised this review as asked by the restaurant, to be specific about the dish I ordered. My feelings about my order:Basically, it is unreasonable to charge $18 for a tiny bowl of pumpkin curry.I went here with my son for his birthday for a nice meal. We spent $80 between us, which made no sense. Curries are made with simple ingredients, like legumes, seasonal veggies and chicken. They're not expensive to make and should not cost a fortune, especially with limited portions. I don't eat a lot but I also don't eat rice. I would have liked a dinner sized bowl of curry.Another issue, they use strongly scented hand sanitizer, which is also near the entry. Chemical scent fills the air and clashes with the food. The waitress kindly sat us by an open window but perfume and food just don't mix. It would be so easy to use unscented hand sanitizer.I just did not have a good experience.

Food wasn’t good. We had to return half of the options. Either too much salt or not at

Taste of the Himalayas serves a great range of Nepalese and Northern Indian dishes including momos, tarkari curries, lamb dishes as well as your usual favorites, both veg and nonveg. The staff is wonderfully polite and the ambience is enhanced with soft Indian music and beautiful murals on every wall.

This place was incredible! The owner Bonita was so kind to us, she personally went out of her way to make sure we had everything we wanted and I got to eat nostalgic dishes I haven’t had since I was 5 years old - it was very special. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered 4 plates of chicken momo and a plate of tandoori chicken. All the momos were broken and dried. Over $80 for broken and dry momos, never ordering from this place again. Stay away from this place. I have had just bad momos. This place is horrible. Seriously, shame on this place.First and last time ordering from this place. How can they sell food like this.

First and foremost, the service here is impeccable. I've never had a hostess go out of their way to serve and cater to us like the hostess here. The food was brilliant as well-- everything had a unique taste and had the right amount of spice and flavor. This place holds my highest recommendation and I urge anyone in the area to stop by.

We went there in between lunch and dinner serving. Overall pretty disappointing experience. Service was terrible and slow, food was very spicy and modest at best. Never again.
