“Got an iced double espresso and pain au chocolat. Literally had goosebumps the second the coffee hit my tongue, not sure what espresso they use but it’s excellent. Pain au chocolat was excellent as well. No clue how they are able to only be open 6 hours 3 days a week but it’s worth stopping by, expect a line.“

I got an assortment of pastries and desserts and I wasn't disappointed with any of my choices. I couldn't tell you the names of the desserts I took home except for the baklava but picking them out just based on how delicious they looked was definitely exciting and fun. I love trying new things, especially other culture's food and Le Gout doesn't disappoint when it comes to their desserts. I'll have to come back for the food, it all looked very good. I often get just a baguette, but when I am feeling something sweet, I'll get there Nutella donut, yuzu saboro, red velvet cake, or when it's the season, their mini pumpkin pies are my favorite.They are right next to a busy Hmart and can have the indoor seating be full of older people, which can definitely lessen the vibe, but I honestly take my pastries to go every time. Our box was filled with goodies and we enjoyed 95% of the delectable treats. Our box was filled by a sweet lady but the coffee crew weren't friendly. Not sure if there's one line for baked goods and one line for coffee or if anyone can help-- confusing in a small setting. Drove from Santa Monica to get the celebration cake at this location for my mom's birthday. They probably sell through their products faster maintaining their freshness. This is a takeout only location. No seating at all. Grab and go. It's nearby several downtown hotels, Sheraton, Hilton, Hotel Per La, as well as several colleges. Staff is friendly and efficient. They keep the location clean and tidy. I have observed them handling difficult people, who are not customers, but who walk in off of the streets, with grace and kindness when the situation needs to be addressed. This is a small, but mighty location. People who work, live, go to school or visit downtown L.A. are lucky to have it as a choice among several Starbucks. Parking is a challenge. Metered street parking and a few parking garages are available.“

It was good but not $5+ good. On this day I had a free birthday reward and I was at the Americana so I figured why not grab one. I went with the Sprinkle cupcake and at first I didn't realize I could only redeem my cupcake online so I had to place a pick-up order that apparently wasn't going to be ready for an hour. I told the worker at the pick up window and he was kind enough to just pack it up for me right away! Win service. The cupcake itself was actually moist and had good flavor not too sweet either while the frosting wasn't overly sugared and it was just the right amount for me to make a cupcake sandwich out of it.“

“The pastries in the window drew us to look at the menu. A sandwich sounded great but we ended up spitting the smoked salmon “toast” on sourdough. The price seemed silly but it was LOADED when it came out and we were thrilled. They warmed up our croissant too and we loved how airy it was. That was my first official sour dough of Cali and I loved it.“
