My complain is that fires are tasteless and they re literally the cheapest thing you can buy on the market definitely a 7.5/10 no more on the good side you can see where they cook the food and it seems clean enough to me the dining room is clean as well the tables outside were clean even tho it was a rainy day and they have a waiting area for togo orders that can sit around 8 people also you can get free green/red salsa I ve seen some places charge for it overall 3.8 stars“

My steak was cooked to perfection (Medium rare of course) the baked potato was cooked through but not dry, and the salad bar provided a very nice fresh selection. “Ok Im picky and also Persian! Hands down. The best Persian food in the whole San Diego metropolitan. Koobideh, chicken, and barg was delicious. Rice so flavorful, like a homemade basmati rice by a traditional Persian mom!! Salad dressing and salads ON POINT! Shallot yogurt delicious and perfect proportions. Ugh, Ill be a regular. I don’t know how it was my first time. Thank you for the best persian food anyone can ask for.“

“Smallish restaurant with tiny parking lot of about 10 spots shared between 3 businesses. Like the roll up garage door windows, lots of outdoor picnic bench seating under shade canopies (which we couldn't use on this rainy day). Beer selection is pretty good, we had the meat lovers 12 inch pizza and liked the thin crispy crust, a bit skimpy on the toppings but tasty enough.

Parking: I think 10 spots between 3 (?) businesses in this very small strip mini mall.“

They put lettuce on the tacos, and guacamole which for most is a plus but for me wish they’d mentioned it on the menu before i ordered. I wanted a burrito but they make them weird missing the things i want (rice beans cheese with the meat) and adding things I dont generally go for (lettuce salsa fresca guacamole)

Its authentic but whitewashed, like the menu caters to the oceanside surfers rather than latinos who want an authentic tj taco. Overall it was decent but not my top tier favorite.“

I ordered the goat curry, which was absolutely finger-licking delicious, paired perfectly with their garlic naan and a Himalayan beer. We also enjoyed the yellow daal, aloo parantha, and their warm, comforting chai.

The three sisters that run it are amazing women that take pride in their work always so uplifting and with a smile on there faces. If you haven’t tried this place what are you waiting for. “Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!“

We take our health seriously and eat super clean and mostly at home. When we go out we usually don't feel our best due to all the seed oils. This place felt like eating at home, the best quality we could get!“

“Found this location from a recommendation from one of the exotic tree nurseries down the street. Next to a main road but not to busy or intrusive on our experience. The food was amazing and most important. Fresh authentic, spiced really well and I could not be more impressed with the quality and the chef. Beautiful atmosphere on the flower filled outside cozy seating area. A great place to spend time with a loved one on a bike ride. Will be going back for sure when in the area for sure. For us, the papaya salad was too fish sauce strong, it was good, but overpowering.

We enjoyed the beef curry and our tofu kabocha curry. Perfectly flavored, a 5/10 is genuinely a five, and the portions were great with just enough to bring home leftovers.

As a group we enjoyed the ribs appetizer, but the beef was tough and overcooked. Flavorwise the ribs were great, but chewy.“
