We've been a customer since 1969! They have my favorite sign and it rings true. If you can't smell it, we don't have it! Love it! Seriously, one of the last true Italian delicatessens left in the San Fernando Valley. We used to love sneaking off campus and getting our meatball sandwiches for lunch.
Cavaretta's has been around forever, but nobody seems to know about it. It's a hidden gem.We had sandwiches, and they were delicious. The rolls were amazing.We couldn't not get a cannoli, and we're happy we did.They have a large selection of imported Italian foods, cookies, sauces, spices, and more.There are a few tables outside, well protected from the sun. Cavaretta's has the most authentic Italian sandwiches in the Valley, as well as a great little Italian mini mart. I often go when they're busy, but the atmosphere is so friendly, and the aroma is so enticing, that I really don't mind the wait. It seems as though every time I'm there, I meet someone who wants to talk about how long they've been a Cavaretta's customer, and how much they love their food and whole experience!
