“Great place. Came with my family on our way to the beach. Good selection of sandwiches and other things. They didn’t have tuna made so made it fresh for my sandwich without issue. My wife loved her coffee. We all liked our sandwiches. Very well made. The people that helped us were all friendly. The owner/grandmother I assume personally thanked us for coming in. “Companion bakeshop is the best bakery!! I’ve been to bakeries around the country as well as here in Santa cruz. As a baker myself who’s tried about half the baked goods they offer there was only one item I wouldn’t buy again.

All their bread is wild yeast. And they offer 100% whole grain loaves! The pistachio dream is ridiculously good. I literally dream about it and I’m not a meringue or nut person. The quality of ingredients shows in everything and their thoughtfulness about healthier options is also evident. As in their almond croissant which features a non traditional whole meal “marzipan”.
Can’t wait for them to make a cookbook!!“

“I was in town with my daughter for college visits and came across this restaurant in Santa Cruz via google maps. We went on a Sunday morning and were seated immediately after ordering, and the food arrived very quickly. We ordered vegan versions of a couple of their menu items and they were VERY good. Lots of flavor, not heavy sitting. We liked it so much we went back the following morning for breakfast before we took off to another state for another college visit. There were still more vegan items I would have liked to try on their menu. Definitely recommend this quaint little restaurant. Vegan friendly, but also good choices for omnis too.“

I had a burrito that was stunningly delicious. They put tofu and soyrizzo inside the burrito! This had had the effect of making Damn near the best veggie wrap I have ever had had in this town!!!!!!!!!

in addition, the barista trotted out dog treats for bodhi!. She was so friendly and accommodating

Of course the patio is just wonderful and usually uninhabited. Dog get treats if they get ip on the furniture too!
