Amazing wine and atmosphere
We went for brunch. Hot coffee, great New Jersey sandwich and amazing skillet pancake. Excellent service too!
This review is long overdue. I’m a local to Carmel and love what vin by the sea has brought to the community. I’ve been here for brunch and dinner and the service has never disappointed! Chef Paul’s food is delicious and the seasonal menus are always a treat to look forward to! If you haven’t been to their pasta Wednesday, check it out! VIN by the Sea Wine Bar + Restaurant is a lovely little wine bar with a beautiful patio and very friendly service. The wine selection is carefully curated and something that oenophiles will enjoy. The fries were fantastic, the shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked, and the garlic aïoli is a standout. The karaage chicken was the best, and the pork and black cod couldn't be better—the cod was tender and flavorful. The raw oysters on the half shell and salty spring mussels were also excellent. The sommelier nailed requests for dry whites, and the champagne pairing with the caviar was excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful, especially in the summer months when windows open up, and the space is dog friendly. The table was cleaned up immediately after each serving, and the wine specialist constantly checked in on pairings. This place is a gem in a very competitive neighborhood and highly recommended—a 10/10 in every way. Visit and enjoy!
