Love this place for a quick, healthy meal. The salmon was fresh and high quality. It’s an easy grab-and-go spot with reasonable prices.
Super clean restaurant. Very friendly staff. The poke was delicious. They made an avocado roll for my daughter. Very reasonable price with a nice sit down area. Would encourage giving them a try.
Good food, lots of options, doesn't answer phone. Best to go in to order.

Basa Seafood Express is a high-quality family-owned, mom-and-pop restaurant in Castro Valley. It is a solid spot, more for takeout than dine-in, with a small seating area. The extensive menu features delicious seafood, poke, sushi, and rolls. Standout items include the very good clam chowder in a fresh sourdough bread bowl, the Philly rolls with smoked salmon, the spicy tuna, and the salmon burger. The salmon bowl and ahi poke are also delicious, made with high-quality, fresh fish. The fried fish is really good. Combos that include a main, rice, salad, and water offer fair and affordable pricing. The staff is very helpful. While some items like the spicy salmon poke can taste a bit off and the sushi is just okay, it is a definite recommendation for awesome food at a great price, worth a stop for a quick bite.
