“First timer report: Spencer's is located on a dead end street, at the base of the mountain behind it. To be clear, the restaurant was built right at the base of the mountain, as in “you couldn't get closer” — very dramatic with beautiful lighting in and out of the restaurant. From the moment we walked in to end of our experience, staff service was perfect: every request we made was quickly fulfilled by some very service-oriented people who also worked well as a team. Our server was “Simon,” who was exceptional in his knowledge of food and wine. His timing was perfect, too: he paced the service, beautifully, never rushed, never waiting. What a pro. Now, to the food. When someone says, describing the food, that “everything is good here,” it's usually a stretch. I can say that the food we ordered was just sooo goooood! Example: the crab cakes? Delicate. After commenting that the crab cakes may have been the best I have ever had, Simon shared that they are 100% crab. I will add: 100% crab that you will want to order, again, and again. The beet salad, short ribs and pan-fried fish dishes just continued the joy.
