Decided to try this place on a whim, I was traveling in the area for business and just felt like finding a local owned and AUTHENTIC TAQUIERA for some quick street tacos. The directions led me to the Walgreens parking lot and that's where yoy'll find Gil's setup with some RED pop-up tents right on the sidewalk.
There's one picnic table if you want to sit down, but this is more of just a Grab-n-go place.

This place had some amazing tacos. Was in town for a wedding and drove by here several times and decided to stop and boy was I glad. We got the al pastor, steak, and chorizo and they were all delicious! Careful with th red sauce it is super spicy but had great flavor as well. If I a local this would be my go to taco spot!
Takes me right back to Mexico. The absolute best tacos you can find in the San Fernando Valley. 10 out of 10. Heart stoppingly good. Wonderful service. Cannot recommend higher. Great prices too!

Gils Tacos is a taco stand on the corner of De Soto & Devonshire in Chatsworth, considered the best street tacos in the area. It is a worthy successor to another previous taco stand. The street tacos are juicy, tasty, flavorful, and loaded up with meat, especially the Al Pastor, which is good and hard to do. The asada also tastes like good meat. They use quality meats cooked to perfection—soft but crispy. The menu also includes burritos, tortas, mulitas, and quesadillas, with favorites being the cow tongue, chicken, chorizo, and pastor quesadilla. Everything is amazing and fresh, with all the fixings like onions, cilantro, red salsa, green salsa, lemon slices, radish, and carrots. The salsas are really good. Tortillas are a bit thin but likely made in house. Drinks like horchata are available, and the pineapple juice is a must-try, though they often sell out. There is no seating unless you sit in your car, making it mostly for take out. Service is wonderful and the line can get long. They have great prices and a notable Taco Tuesday deal. Reviews call it heart stoppingly good, the absolute best tacos in the San Fernando Valley, and a 10 out of 10, with a strong recommendation to return.
