I am proud that this restaurant is authentic and does not coddle to the Mexican or California fusion fad! I have been to Japan before and they do small plates. Respect their cuisine and style, don't force them to change. I don't understand why only the Mexicans complain about other people's cultures in cuisine. I am Mexican and there, I said it. My favourite out of the 3 done by the same owner. There's a long wait outside best to go very early or later or be prepared to shop around while you wait. The signup sheet is at the front. Tip if you're going with another person, one should get extra pork and share it you can also ask for hot water to dilute the soup when you're almost done.
