“This hidden gem in Danville is tucked away on a downtown side street, Rose Avenue in a tastefully restored cozy home. Four of us visited recently and had the most delicious meals and innovative, yummy cocktails.
Angi, the owner, and her crew made us feel like we were guests in her home while she helped us choose from new and standard Thai dishes. She even had the chef alter ingredients in several of the dishes to accommodate food allergies.
We know we’ll be returning many times to enjoy this special, hidden gem in the valley!

“Impeccable service, food perfection. Even the simplest ingredients, masterfully combined, make for fantastic bites! The Avocado Bruschetta is a perfect example of that. And it’s unlike any other. Simply delicious. The chicken sliders are a tradition for a reason: the house made biscuit is a revelation, and it isn’t everyone who can match that baked flaky goodness with the perfectly fried chicken. Unbelievable. I’ll be back again for that. The spicy shrimp had the perfect combo of heat/spice and sweet curry flavors. And I love the wine list!!“

“OMG 😳 The Ceviche (not counting my wife’s handmade ceviche) is the best I have ever tasted, and I’ve tasted a lot of ceviche. It’s soooo good. I had the Mango 🥭 Avocado 🥑 Shrimp 🍤 Ceviche it was like an explosion of flavors in my mouth, I couldn’t stop eating it. Great tacos 🌮 everything was beyond my expectations. I have probably walked by Puesto’s a hundred times but not anymore it will be my restaurant of choice when in Concord you have to try it. Sorry no picture of the Ceviche 😋“

“Excellent noodles and sauces. I had the spicy numbing pork with thick noodles and it was delicious. Tried all my friend's food and it was great, I think I would get soup next time because the portion was very big and delicious. We also had the pleasure of looking back at the kitchen and seeing them hand pulling noodles in the middle of dinner.“

“Stopped by here before work to get some donuts. I got the Ube and red velvet peppermint pretzel donuts. They both were amazing. The peppermint donut has actual peppermint candy pieces crumbled on top which made them sticky. The peppermint was very subtle not overpowering.“

So they are doing fabulous but here are some additional suggestions from me - -I wish they would do a weekly soup and quiche flavor according to the seasons as they do with desserts. -I would love to see a comprehensible cake list with sizes and prices to be able to order cakes for birthdays and such. -I would love to see opera cake slices as it’s one of my favorites. -Since most items are on the $$ side, it would be great if they let people sample a few of the newer things because people are hesitant to spend money on something they are not sure they would like. “This place serves the best acai bowls in the world. Slightly better than ones I've had in Brazil and Hawaii, and easily the best in the Bay area. Worth the drive if you're not local. Don't sleep on the savory pastries either. They look a little plain in their unpretentious case they display them in there, but they are really tasty. The owner is there everytime I go and he is super friendly and informative about the ingredients and just seems like that old fashioned shop/restauranteur who enjoys his food, his business and his clients. The only problem I have with this place is the food is so good and filling, I always leave really full!“

“OMG this place is good! I’m usually not excited about a grill but do get excited about cheese and boy does this place have cheese in spades!

I got the MeltBurger because I couldn’t resist the oozing cheese in the picture. The burger looked just like the picture and tasted amazing! Juicy and full of flavor!

My wife got the Mac Daddy which, honestly, doesn’t really sound all that doo - carbs on carbs but it was SO GOOD! A great cheesy flavor and then bacon to boot. Yummy!

We topped our meal off with the garlic parm fries that were perfectly cooked and generous amounts of Parmesan on top and garlic throughout!

“What a great deli and store. I stopped in here randomly on a rainy day with a coworker. We each had a delicious bowl of soup and a piroshki and that was more than enough food for lunch. The borscht was very good. The people working at the store were very friendly and attentive. There are two small tables to sit and eat at. What really stands out to me about this place is their selection of coffee beans. Ethiopia, Sumatra, Colombia, Kenya are some of the places their coffee originates from. They focus on Fair Trade, organic beans which is awesome too. They roast their coffee so, it is always fresh and very aromatic. People that make coffee here are so customer oriented, they can tailor coffee to very specific taste preferences to ensure every customer enjoys his/her cup of Joe. Their pricing is very reasonable too and it is small, locally-owned business.I highly recommend this place for great tasting, aromatic, flavorful coffee.

“I’ve enjoyed visiting Sunrise Bistro for breakfast. The convenient parking and manageable wait times make it a hassle-free spot for breakfast or brunch. I’ve tried a few dishes, like the carnitas and eggs, but my favorite by far is the smoked brisket and hash, which has become my go-to order. The only area for improvement would be the coffee. Better quality coffee and fresh creamer would really elevate the breakfast experience. Overall, it’s a nice place to dine in for breakfast or brunch.“

“Always wanted to go to Lever. I work right near here, and I came here on New Year’s Eve.

It is a very cute coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be difficult as it is small and tight, but there is parking in the back.

The coffee was great here. Their lavender ice latte was amazing. I believe they are known for their syrups, and I also got to try their orange rosemary syrup. It was unique, but I think the safe bet is to go with the lavender syrup.

It can get very packed here, and they seem to have a smaller staff. Things could move slow, but be patient as it is worth the wait.

Parking: Limited space so look for parking outside the lot or in the back“

They offer a nice variety of weekly events including trivia on Wednesdays which brings in a decent crowd. Kid and dog friendly, and there’s usually a food truck outside if you’re in need of a convenient bite to eat. (Food vendors have been subpar on the quality and value aspect from my experience, but there are also many other local food options within short walking distance). And to top it off, they have 3 – yes 3! — restrooms, so you will never have to do the PeePee dance for too long at this establishment.
