“Salty Bear in Costa Mesa is a really chill spot with a relaxed vibe and friendly staff. The atmosphere is great for hanging out with friends, and the prices are fair for both drinks and food. I love the overall energy of the place, it feels casual and welcoming. The only downside is that the tables and booths are pretty uncomfortable and not very sturdy, which makes it hard to fully relax and enjoy a long visit. Still, it’s a great spot overall, and I’ll definitely be back for the good vibes and solid value.“

He knew the menu inside and out, gave excellent recommendations, and checked in just the right amount without ever being intrusive.

The food is great, the service, out of this world, and the beer? The beer is perfect. I love, love, love the beer names. I opted, for one of my choices, for the Cream Abdul ja Beer. It may not be on the actual name but it's what I saw and its my story now. 😉

“My family and I have been customers of this place for over 20 years. There is no better place in Santa Ana (or Orange County for that matter) for a good old-fashioned birria. It is cooked to perfection. I came today after a couple of years, and they have simply not lost their magic touch. The same staff from years ago making the same delicious recipe. Trust me, this is the spot!“

“We held our daughter and son-in-laws “ day after wedding” gathering for friends and family who couldn’t make it on their wedding day in 2021 (because of COVID limitations). We also just held a co-ed baby shower for them just this past weekend there.(2023). You now can reserve an area (for a fee) and get catered platters of food items. This made it so much easier than individual orders. Usually there is a band playing on Saturdays and Sundays. The staff were all nice and great to work with. It was great to have a large outdoor venue for their baby shower.“

“I don’t give many places 5 stars but this one deserves it. We got a whole Stay Loose and a slice of the Fiin’n to Fire and both were exceptional. I hate pineapple on pizza but combined with the other toppings it was salty, sweet, crispy and spicy when you add the house made hot sauce. The hazy IPA was one of the better ones I’ve ever had. We’ll be back.“

He really made us feel like we were important even though we were only a table of 2. The food came out quick and everything we had was delicious. Love their lunch specials, so much food for a great price!“
