I attended the Harvard Extended event at The Culver Hotel and had a great time!
Check it out. Great atmosphere, parlour drinks, quartet jazz band, poached prawns, great crudite!
Restaurant was awful, not sure about the hotel!

Velvet Lounge offers an elegant venue for special occasions and a wonderful place to take out-of-towners. The food, service, and ambience are excellent. The room is beautiful, with lovely decor, and the food is reliable, tasty, and very good. The live jazz musicians are great, and the live band and singer add to the ambience, though the noise can be a bit loud and make conversations more difficult. Outdoor seating on the patio is a good option. The location is fabulous, in the heart of Culver City. The restaurant is on the ground floor of The Culver Hotel, a historic building from 1924. The service is attentive and gracious, though one waiter did not crack a smile. The food and wine are great, and brunch offers many options, including the Are you a Good or a Bad Witch cocktail. With all this upside, the price tag is fairly high, but guests get what they pay for. It remains a special occasion place and a one-of-a-kind, local experience.
