Great food and great waitress !!
I honestly don’t understand why cabbage is added to the burrito. It made the burrito taste bitter and ruined the overall flavor for me. On top of that, I could barely taste any meat inside, which was disappointing. The burrito felt unbalanced and not very satisfying…
The shrimp tacos and the chicken quesadillas were so good, I was speaking Spanish in my dream. Favorite.

La Cocina de Oro Taquería is a cute little spot in Downieville with delicious, well-prepared, unique food and many vegetarian options. The food is good, the people friendly, and the prices reasonable. The wonderful owner and all employees are most kind, friendly, and helpful. The location is beautiful, with a cozy deck right over the Downie River and a nice patio out back with river views. There is indoor and outdoor seating, ice cold beer and drinks, and a live band on Saturday nights. Try Sage's Quesadilla, the larger quesadilla with carne asada, or their twist on a margarita. Staff give great local recommendations on what to do, where to hike, and where to fish.
