“We got the Tonkatsu soup, the spicy Miso with extra egg, a dragon roll, and a yellowfin poke bowl.
You do have to order and pay in advance which while, unusual isn't a deal breaker. With my poke bowl I picked the yellow fin tuna as per the cashier's recommendation and it was pretty good, including the seaweed salad (new to me). The spicy miso soup was also good, the broth taste was interesting (in a good way) and I came to like it; also, the chicken is delicious. The tonkatsu soup was creamy and the broth tasted better overall initially, but I prefer spice and would choose the spicy miso next time. Lastly, I got the dragon roll as per the cashier's recommendation as well -- she noted that while many people don't like eel, she thinks it's very good and recommended it.
My wife thought all of the food was great and wanted to put more than 4 stars but maybe not quite 5 so I would say 4.5 stars here. The only thing to mention is that there's no real server here so if you want water you have to ask for it and they aren't constantly checking up on you like one may would expect in a traditional setting. Not a bad experience at all, may ended up going back if we're in the area again.“

“Better than expected for sure. I was pleasantly surprised, thinking this would be something between a hole in the wall diner and a Rubios. Turned out way better. Food was great, place was hoppin, full bar, plenty of service staff, etc. Only place I can even think to say they could have been a step better would be seating; it was clearly built for cleanliness over comfort where a combo would have been nice. 👍🏼 Great job to the owners.“

“The food is so flavorful and fresh! The workers are also so incredibly kind and were so much help when we were deciding what to eat since we have never been there before. I just wish they had more variety of toppings for the poke but they also have a wide range of other dishes. I would definitely go again.“

“Overall their poke is really good and their boba drink is good :) I just wish they kept their miso soup as an option since I felt that it was a huge inconvenience to remove it at the time I needed their soup the most and there wasn’t any explicit announcement about it too. It didn’t really help that it was on the menu and that they said they removed it as I wanted to order it.“

“Saying it’s “the best poke shop in Santee” isn’t fair as if I’m not mistaken, it’s the ONLY poke shop in Santee. To be fair i’m having a hard time finding a NON-chain “go-to” poke spot in SD overall, but Ahi is… just ok. Everything about it is just ok, price a bit steep but that’s what we’ve come to expect from seafood these days. For a quick bowl of Poke, sure it gets the job done. But I’d say, strive for more than just ok, who knows, maybe whip up your own bowl at the next door Trader Joes.“
