“Radhaus feels like one of those places you stumble into and immediately think, “yeah, I’m staying awhile.” Tucked right by Fort Mason with that ridiculous Bay view, it has this cozy, slightly European energy that makes a casual hang turn into a full-on sit-down situation. Long tables, big windows, the kind of place where strangers end up sharing space and no one minds.
The beer lineup is where things get fun. German-style, super clean, dangerously drinkable. I went in thinking I would have one and leave, and that plan fell apart quickly. We paired it with sausages and a giant pretzel that showed up warm and perfectly salted, the kind you tear into without waiting for anyone else at the table. It is hearty in a way that feels earned, especially if you walked there along the water.
There is something about Radhaus that hits differently than your typical beer spot. Maybe it is the view, maybe it is the vibe, maybe it is the second beer talking, but it just works. It is a little lively, a little laid-back, and exactly the kind of place you end up recommending to people without overexplaining why.“

“What a totally rad spot! Headlands has done it again, and now offers another great taproom to enjoy their awesome beers. 5/5 stars for food, drinks, service, and ambience. A HUGE improvement from the Bear's Lair. Need another reason to come support this awesome business? Our bartender informed us that Headlands has donated over $130,000 to local environmental non-profits since 2022. Wow!“

Smaller and more intimate than Almanac's spot in Alameda, but similar vibes -- lots of seating, indoor and outdoor space, and full menu with beer, guest taps, wine, cider, and slushies. Also beer to go available. Connected to the Prescott Food Hall for pizza, Taiwanese food, smash burgers, cafe, deli/butcher shop, and Highwire coffee. Secure car and bike parking on site.
Opens up to a sandbox and outdoor green space. Hoping Almanac can continue to bring the family/kid-friendly atmosphere here like they have in Alameda.
Great place to grab a beer before and after Ballers games, Prescott Farmer's Market on Sundays, or Prescott Night Markets throughout the summer.“

“This has become my favorite brewery to refresh after a bicycle ride across the Berkeley/Oakland hills. They have a huge beer selection and offer all kinds of tasty sandwiches in a relaxing garden atmosphere. I usually order a hefeweizen (relatively low on alcohol) to make it up Grizzly Peak again. After a stronger beer consumption there is always the North Berkeley BART station around the corner as last resort.“

“I used to come here over the years especially when a friend lived up the street. Neil fixed it up quite a bit. Their good has certainly gotten better too. Tried the fish and chips. The fries were thin and crispy. The fish came in 3 pieces with tartar sauce, vinegar and another dip that was red and spicier than ketchup. There is a wide beer selection and they always have a nice Chardonnay for me. They also have pub quizzes there.“

“Stopped in Saturday night to grab some freshies and check out the brewery for the first time. Ended up having an amazing conversation with Brennan about beer, music, and community — exactly why I love beer and what the industry should feel like for patrons.
And most importantly: the beer is outstanding. This pils is everything I look for — depth, balance, and character that only comes from time, care, and quality ingredients. By far the best lager in the bay- yeah I said it!
