The Junket - what an institution and survived the Great El Cerrito remodel of 2002. I never really came here in high school or later in adult life living nearby. This place is just very odd. But not in a bad way. Decent sandwiches at decent prices using pretty good meats and cheeses. There's a good beer selection and plenty of seating. Seems pretty popular with an older crowd. Anyways, I had the cajun turkey sandwich but I'm going to go with the headcheese next time. I like that they promote headcheese. I grew up eating it and do enjoy it in moderation.

I've been going here like most people my whole life. Wonderful owners who I've missed during the pandemic, and a nice selection of items. The carrot salad, sadly, had departed. "We don't have it today" means actually never.
