Best food in Bay, All time fav🔥👌
An impressive array of vegan options (4/5 Green Stars)
I would highly recommend trying out this Himalayan restaurant in El Cerrito. There are plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians and the quality every item we ordered was very high. I’ve had versions of each dish before but was impressed with Zomsa’s versions and rate Zomsa as one of the best Himalayan restaurants around. The Aloo Tikki (crispy potato cake with mint and tamarind sauces – vegan, $6) was a great...read full review

This was perhaps the freshest and cleanest Nepalese food I’ve had here. I don’t remember the names, but we got lamb with spinach and the spinach was fresh not frozen. We also got garbanzo bean and squash curry. Excellent flavors. The only thing is, we asked for medium spiciness, and I would say it was mild. No heat whatsoever. I will definitely be back.

Zomsa, a cozy Nepali restaurant in El Cerrito, offers a warm ambiance and delicious food. The Wai Wai chatpate comes highly recommended, along with flavorful Thali and vegan options. The vegan Thali plate is a taste delight, and the chicken is so good. Laphing, Shabhaley, Chicken chhoila set, and Aloo Phinghsa are all on point for authentic Nepali flavors. The paneer tikka melts in your mouth, the samosa is perfectly spiced, and the vegetable biryani is fragrant and satisfying. While some dishes like tikka masala shine, charred nan was a minor setback. Zomsa is a true gem, especially for vegetarians, with creative options rich in spices. The service is great, and the staff is attentive and kind. It feels like a community spot with many local Nepalese folks showing up. Highly recommended for food lovers.
