The ambiance was lovely, and the rolls were well presented and tasty. However, the yellowtail didn't quite match Mikuni's pepperfin plate in flavor. Still, the presentation was impressive, especially with the rolls served on wooden planks instead of ceramic plates.
Check out the description in the photos I listed. This place has a great downtown vibe with a much larger footprint. My favorites were definitely the Ankimo, monkfish liver. It was so creamy, The Gekkikan Horin black & gold saki was so smooth and a perfect Saki to end our dinner with. The only reason I docked a star was due to the server. I've been here a couple times now. The food and drinks are amazing. A roll will not leave you hungry here as may happen at some other places. The Dante's Inferno roll is my fav; the tempura jalapeño slices set it apart. The restaurant can get a bit loud on a busy night. The service can be slow, but the staff are always nice.
