“Benders is a classic, one of my favorites. It was a regular stop in the tour of dive bars on a Friday evening and always had an edge on the others because of its size and food offerings to appease both vegetarians and carnivores alike. Bartenders are solid here, quick and efficient and don't waste your time or theirs. If you are a dive bar connoisseur, then Benders is a must try.

“This was my 1st visit to San Francisco on my birthday! Hidive was welcoming, with great staff, good drinks, and a great bar top food menu! Started the day out there with margaritas, and stopped back in for some wings and a nightcap at the end of the day. It was great!“

“Wow... we simply don't know how we have never had a meal here before. It was pre-COVID the last time we were here for a show, but we never had a meal. After our visit late this afternoon, we will be back often! The drinks are great, for sure. And the rustic dining area is an absolutely delightful plus! And the food, well, sure, it's simple pub food, but it is the tastiest pub food we've had in a very long time. Be sure to stop by here for a nosh and a kolsch, or any other beverage. You will be happy you did!“

“Joe is great. After our Uber drive dropped us in the wrong place, Joe would tell us how to get there, he took us there. It was only at the end of the block, but meant the world to us. He wouldn’t accept a tip, so went back to have a beer after dinner. He remembered our name. He is the true meaning of customer service and I’ve told all of my friends to go see him at the Showdown. “Great metal bar in Oakland with a massive courtyard, and makes you stop wondering where all the cute boys went! A nice reprieve from the steadily wealthier and wealthier Oakland scene, nobody is talking about their new sportscar here and lots of space to see great music most of it metal. 🎸 (though the last 2 metal guys I know who played here were pretty loaded now that I think of it one of them worked at nvidia and the other was a graduate degree engineer from my office ) there’s a baywheels bike share nearby in case you’re scared of leaving your bike locked up here. The courtyard has great seating for people watching, maybe if we do magic incantations all the cool art school girls who have great taste in music will return!“

“I came here to pregame before seeing the Dodgers play the Oakland Athletics. I did not stay at this hotel, which I regret because the customer service was excellent. I ordered a couple of beers and finished it with some Buffalo Wings and a side of fries. The food was delicious and took about 15 minutes to come out, so I knew it was made from the time I ordered. The ambiance was fantastic because Dodger fans surrounded me, plus my bartender was super sweet (which I regret not getting her name). Unfortunately, the Oakland Athletics are leaving this town, but if you plan on visiting Oakland, please stay here. It's near the freeway, and this bar is fire.“

We sat at the bar and Rodger gave us the Royal treatment!

The salmon salad, the salmon BLT, and the pastrami are all fire. And if you're like me and don't drink alcohol, definitely ask for a ginger beer <Yes they're alcohol-free!

“Chesty’s is a hidden gem! Located atop the Marine’s Memorial Club Hotel near Union Square, this bar & restaurant is casual and just really good overall. Food is tasty and reliable (they have gluten-free options!) the service is friendly and efficient (Maribel was sooo sweet!) and the view from the 12 floor is wonderful! Complimentary happy hour for hotel guests as well as buffet breakfast!“

“I have been a regular Tilden golfer since 2019 (especially on Tuesday nights...when the real pros come out!). The recent opening of The Overlook has been a fantastic addition to the course. They did a great job with the drink selection, with lots of local beers on tap. The outdoor space is so nice, with heat lamps and a fire pit. Also, if you haven't been out to Tilden before, you will love the views and serenity out there. It reminds me of getting a drink at the top of a ski resort in Tahoe. Bravo Tilden!“

“Nice sports bar. I frequently stop in on game days for a beer and a bite to eat. The bar definitely fills up about 1.5 hours before the game. Friendly service, although there's usually a short wait. Great selection of beer and spirits. Food selections are pricey, and serving portions are ample but tasty. It would be nice if they offered game days or happy hour specials.“

“The decor and ambience is very modern while still maintaining the original design and foundation. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Place gets busy even during baseball games. Went here before the giants game and was quite impressed. I’d love to come back next time I’m in town. The food and drinks were impressive and left me wanting more. Went here for an evening networking event and felt like it had this classy underground feel because of the DJ + Technics turntables right when you walk in, and then you turn the corner and see 2 massive speakers w/o their grilles behind the bar, which is filled with premium Japanese whiskey & gin and vinyl covers.

“We loved our meal at Pied Piper and would have had many more but only stayed 3 nights at the Palace Hotel and ended up dining outside the hotel more. Dining at restaurants isn't always easy with a 5 and 2 year old but everything worked well at Pied Piper. Service was quick and friendly, food was delicious and fresh, cocktails were innovative and delicious and the ambiance was also great. Prices are super reasonable for a city hotel.“
