“Cafe Buenos Aires has some of the best empanadas I’ve had in my life. The empanadas are not greasy and full of flavor. They also have the rare nopales (cactus) flavor, which is complex and well balanced. The staff is super friendly and will heat up your empanadas for a good 5 minutes so they taste hot and fresh. They also have a ton of Renude drinks(chagaccino, collagen latte, hot chocolate). I am so fortunate to have found them and went twice during my weeklong trip in SF. I will definitely be back. Thank you!“

“This place is pure Guatemalan awesomeness! It's just as good if not better than the original. The pan francés And pan dulce are on point, and the breakfast is amazing. If you love Guatemalan and Central American style breakfast this is the place for you. I have to warn you though, parking and seating is tough on the weekends. So be ready to park a few blocks away, and hunt for a good table once you get there.“

“The good smells hit me before I even saw this little place in the Ferry Building. The line moved fast and the food was delicious. I got the jamon and the fugazzeta. They actually threw in an extra one for free when they saw one didn't meet their standards. Amazing flakey pastry and wonderful fillings. Exceeded my expectations.“

“WOW. I tried two flavors of the empanadas - the vegetarian and steak - and both were delicious. The dough was the unexpected highlight - they make it in-house, and it’s the perfect salty and crunchy shell for the filling. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

“Amazing service from a place that actually cares about its workers and the food is delicious …got my coworkers hooked on their pastries and empanadas hehe …good veggie options … a very good assortment of teas… this place is a little hidden being back off the street, but it’s well worth the hunt and once you’ve found it you’ll be glad you did there’s a little private sitting area in front of the shop that’s surprisingly quiet for the area a perfect stop for lunch“

“Not only is the food delicious the family that owns Universal Bakery is one of a kind. Señora V,Jorge his wife and sweet daughters I can't say enough good things about them. The food is comforting everything on the menu is delicious. My guilty pleasure is the mini conchas I literally can eat a dozen I have to stop myself. You won't find a better breakfast for your money. Stuffing the bread with plátano beans egg and whichever meat you choose ugh I dream about the first bite. Seating is first come self seating type place and rightfully so it does get packed . Everything you need for a quick delicious meal is at the counter whether by yourself or with loved ones, so convenient. My only preference slightly stronger coffee but I would never complain or turn down a free coffee included with my meal.“

“This is a newer bakery in the area. It has a small parking lot. The inside has always been clean and the bread always looks and tastes fresh in addition to very neatly presented. My parents like it as well. The service has always been delivered with a smile. As far as the foods, I've only tried the tamales and they were good. The pudin is my favorite bakery item. 😋“
“This little gem is located inside Ferry Building Marketplace. It’s is one of the few places open early in the morning to get food. The woman working was friendly. We had no wait. I ate the Fugazzeta Empanada… it literally melted in my mouth. It was the best empanada I have ever had. The price seemed high for just one, but the taste made it worth it!“

“The BEST homemade empanadas with a variety of flavors - the new poblano mole is to DIE for and they said a new birria flavor is coming soon! The staff is so nice and makes you feel like family as soon as you walk in - they also make pastries and fresh smoothies/juices that are delightful (no added sugars, super refreshing!) It's a small, cozy shop with outdoor and window seating right next to the stanford hospital so it's convenient for me. Will always come here when i'm in the area and get a dozen to take home for the week!“
