The signage has been removed and the building is boarded up. Looks permanent to me...

I only been here twice and both times I received excellent customer service! Today hours before my birthday the kitchen staff went above and beyond for me today to make sure I got my breakfast sandwich they way I like. Tina was the manager in charge and she did a awesome job! I can tell she was very busy but she still came over to help. Thank you that made my day better!

Where do I begin? I use to go to Panera Bread all the time because the sandwiches was good. But now, sheesh! My sandwich was a disaster! It's like they just piled on a bunch of turkey & tomatoes & didn't even spread it out! Didn't even think to cut it..smh! Had I known my sandwich was going to look like this, I would've spent my money on a different restaurant! I definitely will NOT be going back!

My daughter is staying at Oakland hospital and really wanted soup and a bagel. When my husband got back he realized they never gave the bagel. I emailed corporate because it's a pain to leave her. They let me know they will give me a reward in my account. That reward was for $5. Plus I had to open an account and to use that reward?!?! I have to order ahead through their site. She was so rude when I complained about the measly $5, she said my bagel was only 99cents( maybe she needs to check her prices it's 1.49 plus 2.50 for cream cheese that was thrown away), like she's doing me a favor putting a fiver in the account. Don't eat at Panera, on a Corporate level they are jerks.

Good food but the service was a little wacky

The iced coffee is really hit or miss. Some days it's flagrant and flavorful, and other days it's weak and tastes bitter. I also really wish they would allow refillable cups/mugs as Alameda County Health Department has given this a clear. The flatbreads are massive and loaded but very plain (could be enhanced with seasoning the veggies and some salt and pepper on top). The chocolate croissant is very chocolate-y. They slice it in half and spread chocolate inside. The croissant itself is a tad dry. The kitchen sink cookie is massive and 800 calories -- super super sweet. It's a chocolate chip cookie with caramel swirls and topped with sea salt. Avoid if you have a history of diabetes in your family.

Possibly the worse Panera in California. Staff is rude , mixes up orders, always running out of items... just avoid it!

I ordered a bowl of soup and bowl of mac, the largest sizes offered, and they both looked really small. I measured the soup and it was roughly 1 1/2 cups of soup. The food tasted good, but the portion sizes are laughably small. The previous time my girlfriend ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and there were barely any grapes in it, and what we did find was tiny. I really miss having a decent soup and sandwich place in Berkeley.

Careless preparation. Incorrect orders. Today I got a teaspoon of dressing on the side for my salad. Go to Alameda instead.

We were sick and Panera soup was our go to. We appreciated that they offered family meal deals. We got 2 large soups, a salad and sandwiches for everyone, plus a baguette and butter. It lasted us lunch and dinner and some the next day. I also added 2 iced coffees. My order was delivered by Doordash and the food was sealed in a bag, but what most impressed me was that the drinks were wrapped in a plastic bag sealed with Panera tape for our protection. I order coffee all the time and it is never this protected during the pandemic. The limit of possible contact to our drinks was very professional and I appreciate it. So they get 5 stars for catering to pandemic conditions ranging from family options for take out/delivery to how well they protect the food and clientele by limiting possible contact.

This place is a disaster. Employees sitting in the cafe eating without masks on right next to customers waiting for their order pickup. I waited over 30 minutes for my order today, gave up and left. No employee would help the 15 other people waiting when we tried asking for an eta. They literally looked at their customers, looked away and walked off. No one is counting customer count during COVID. Masks aren't being worn. I'm never returning to a Panera.

Free duck fat fries for every table. Great!Had the lobster pot pie (wow on the presentation), porterhouse steak rare, a white fish dish, a salad, mushroom side, and truffle mac n cheese side, a bunch of desserts, white wine, whiskey, port, between 3 girls. Yea we ate a lot!Everything was delicious. The super friendly staff saw to our every need. If you need something just ask, they are very accomodating. The coffee here is top notch too.
