“One of the last few locations in the USA. I really like their smoking oven. The place is elegant casual. Its a lot if fun.
Update 2025: Much has changed since my review about 8 years ago. Dishes were a-miss, the service was fine, but not exciting. Value for items was not up to my expectation, and there were few other patrons on what should have been a very busy evening.

My previous 5 star review is downgrades to 3 stars, but the review still shows the origional rating.“

“Such a fun little Tiki bar, right next to the Orinda Theater. The bartenders are lovely, the snacks and drinks are delicious, and the vibes are on point. We were told we can take our drinks into the movie theater. We'll have to do that next time!“

“I had an incredible experience at Smuggler's Cove! The atmosphere is absolutely unique, with a fun, immersive tiki-inspired design that makes the whole visit feel like an escape.

The cocktail menu is outstanding—creative, balanced, and expertly crafted. Every drink I tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and really enhanced the overall experience with great recommendations.

Despite being lively and popular, the service was efficient and well-managed. Overall, Smuggler’s Cove stands out as one of the best cocktail bars in San Francisco for its atmosphere, quality drinks, and memorable vibe. I highly recommend it and would definitely come back again!“

“Hawaii West is one of my favorite mf places in the world. Sunny, the owner/bartender doesn't got time for your trials and tribulations and you'll figure that out pretty quick. Free pool all the time, lots of places to sit and cool tf out. All the things you need, none of the frills you don't.“

“The atmosphere and bar itself was so much fun, the bar staff was incredibly friendly and kind. However, we paid for a private party and the DJ refused to take requests. I understand it is under his discretion to play what he wants, but he refused to play the songs the private party requested. I personally asked him to play a song and he told me he would, I never heard the song so I went back to him to ask about it playing and he told me it was going to be played soon. I never heard the song and when I asked him one more time, he said it’s no longer within your parties time frame and I can play whatever I want. I said that’s disappointing because I asked him to play the song during our private party event at this bar and he told me that’s not longer his problem and he was extremely rude. Very disappointing because this bar and the rest of the staff were amazing, but this DJ was rude and a real let down. Especially for how much money we spent for this bar for a birthday party. Do not suggest the bar hires this DJ again based on how he talked to customers.“
