“The service was phenomenal and the food was beyond anything we have had in North County, honestly. While the food is very obviously elegant, the atmosphere is a nice mix of upscale and local Escondido comfort. The dishes are different each week and each course is very rich and appeals to many unique appetites! The only downside for us is it is very expensive (worth it, though, for sure!), so we cannot go as often!“
“Food is decent. Got the breakfast sandwich, iced chai and a fruit danish. It wasn't bad, but nothing I am dying to go back to. Chai was sweet, reminded me of tazo boxed chai you can purchase. Danish was pretty good, expensive but good. Service was great. Everyone was nice and helpful. You are going to spend a good amount here. I thought it would be a quick bite to eat. It was quick but the price was sit down restaurant pricing. There is indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking around the back.“
“Went here for a random date night and had a nice experience. Was impressed by the level of service. Interior is cute. The food was really good, particularly the main courses - we had the duck and the sea bass. My partners dessert, the strawberry charlotte, was great but I was a little underwhelmed with the chocolate marquis. The kumquat sauce that came with it was good but really overpowered the chocolate. Would come back.“

There are quite a few small shops around, on site parking might not be available. There is a large parking lot a few steps away for trader joe's.“
“I have not tried the food but I can say it looks delicious every time I see dishes being carried out from the kitchen. My friend and I like to come here for the famous pornstar martini! All staff at Hunsakers are so attentive and welcoming. It's absolutely a hidden gem here in my hometown of Escondido.“
