“We had the BEST time at Silky Sullivan’s Taco and Trivia Night. About 20 volunteers from Robyne’s Nest came together and they took such great care of us. The service impeccable. The bartender Jo, is straight outta Ireland (Northen Ireland I tinks... ;) She pours the perfect pint of Guinness and keeps the pub running smoothly.... Good vibes, chill atmosphere to have some pints and watch sports (if that's your thang') Great prices, especially for being in Newport... “I'm absolutely in love with this place! The layout is so unique - when you walk through the "front door," you're still outside; stairs take you down to an outdoor patio with a beautiful large tree in the center. There is a bar out there, though it's been closed whenever I've been, probably because I've never gone during the summer. Once you've reached the patio, to the right is the real front door Lol. Step inside & you'll see a casual typical pub to the right, down a couple more stairs, windows will be open to the patio with favorable weather. To the left of the main entrance is a cozy, mahogany, more formal dining area complete with a fireplace. This layout alone is enough to enjoy a drink or dessert, but the food I've had was delicious, too. I love the "Black Bush Stew," which is a delicious beef stew (generous chuncks) with a dollop of mashed potatoes, 2 lamb chops & a shot of Black Bush whiskey! It's no longer on the menu, but I last went in February & our server was amazing - friendly, funny, & accommodating - & had it made for me anyway! I haven't been on a night with live music, but that would be icing on the cake. Love this place!“
“Great food , solid drinks Local bar but this post is more about the quality of staff and customers . My dumb ass walked out of the bar without my wallet. The wallet and all of its contents were turned into the bar intact. I had a fair sum of cash and some gift cards in it . I was so stoked to get it back and didn't have to cancel credit cards etc. I gave the bartender a hundred and said buy some drinks and throw rest in the tip jar. This place earns your business. “We were greeted almost the moment we stepped through the front door. After sliding into a booth, our server, Sara, graciously took drink orders. After reviewing their ample menu, we settled on grilled cheese with soup and one of their specialties, fish and chips. The kettle chips that come with the sandwich were amazing! Good tomato soup and hearty cheese portion on the sandwich. Crispy batter on the fish which included fresh coleslaw. Their Happy Hour is from 4-7pm M-F. The menu features a bunch of options that look like good value. We will definitely be back!Cheers!“
“Delicious food and fast service! We went a Saturday night for the comedy show, and the Mexican meatball soup was super tasty, it came with a side salad that it was bigger and better than expected (in the picture the salad is half way eaten)I would totally come back!“

Once trivia began is just became more difficult to sit and chat at the bar with my friends. I don't begrudge anyone playing trivia .. but since you are posting the questions on the screen... must you be so loud?“
“We are not from this area and haven't been down to HB in quite sometime. We were staying at the Shorebreak Hotel we took a walk and wandered in to Killarneys. We were at the door waiting to be seated but as we looked in the poor bartender was slammed that look like a table of 10 she looked to be taking a big food order. There was a gentleman sitting at the end of the bar working on his laptop he looked over and saw us standing there. He got up he asked if where eating drinking or a little bit of both? We said both he then handed us menus and told us to sit anywhere we like and when we are ready to order to see Christin at the bar. We sat looked at the menu and asked him "what's good" he recommended the eggs benedict and breakfast bowl and the Buenavista. Well they were both fantastic! The bartender was great as well she was very attentive even though she was really busy with that big party. As we left we asked the gentleman at bar that helped us if he recommended a place for dinner. He told us about Sand Bar and told us about the food and the atmosphere. He also told us to try the steak and the salmon. We asked him if was the manager and he told us no I don't work here! The whole time we thought he was the manager / owner because of how well informed he was about the menu and drinks. He told us he is just a local that works from there and figured the bartender needed a hand. Well we thought that was so great that a local can be that kind to help out. He explained that Sand Bar was the same company as well as Sharkeez. Well we took his advice and checked out Sand Bar and loved the food! Over all the experience we had at your establishments were great. The service the food the atmosphere was on point. We will definitely be coming back!“
“I must have passed this joint a million times when I've come to visit friends on the Newport Beach peninsula and Every time I pass this place when I'm on my motorcycle I can smell the burgers grilling and filling the ocean air with great burger aromas, this time I had to stop and I tell you it was one of the best decisions I've made all week. I ordered one of their pub burgers it's cooked to order, I had mine done medium well, and it was a great burger it comes with cheese and I added a couple of slices of bacon and boy I'm telling you it was one of the best burgers I've had lately it came with fries, (they could have been crisper) but still ok, I washed it all down with a cold Guinness. And I'm telling you I'll be back for sure, the staff is friendly and helpful, if you are in the neighborhood stop by here and grab yourself a great burger, they also have an incredible Menu full of pub food items. I can't wait to go back and try their wings and maybe one of their primerib sandwiches. ?Tell them Fred sent you.“
“Great local dive bar with live music on the weekends. They pour a stiff cocktail, and the prices are fair. They don't serve food. However, there is a Mexican restaurant next door that offers takeout, or there will sometimes be a food truck that will pop by. My only minor gripe is that it is an Irish bar in name only. They have some Irish decor around the bar, but they don't have Guinness on tap, which is really a shame. It's a decent spot to watch a game, but they could use a few more TVs.“
