“I have been coming to this bakery for the past year and they have some amazing sweets and also do serve Afghan food. I particularly love the Bolani and the Qhaloli Polo the meat is very tender and flavorful. I definitely recommend to everyone. Go try them out and I promise you will love it.“

“Best afghan food place period.
Try the triple combination and potato Bolani (You're welcome). Unbelievable quality and taste is like no other. Seriously!
I only do takeout, there's no dine in and the restaurant is not the same. So take it to go and picnic at a nearby park
Pro-tip: Bring cash“

“Maiwand Village is a great spot if you're looking to explore authentic Afghan cuisine. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between casual and inviting, making it a suitable place for both family dinners and casual outings with friends.
The kabob menu are definitely the highlight. The Chicken Kabob and Tikka Kabob are not only flavorful but also cooked to perfection, and the fact that they serve them with rice, salata, and naan adds a nice touch. It feels like a complete meal that respects traditional Afghan dining.
I also appreciate the variety—having options like the Qabili Palau and the Trout Fish gives diners a chance to try different flavors. The prices are reasonable, making it accessible for a wider audience.
The staff is usually friendly and attentive, which enhances the dining experience. Overall, Maiwand Village seems to capture the essence of Afghan hospitality and cuisine well, making it a worthwhile choice. Kids friendly environment.“

“All was delicious; however, some basic items one might expect were unavailable, possibly due to a large party (80) that would be there later. Our group of 6 was easygoing about not being able to order some things we'd wanted. The disappointment didn't last long because what was available was very good.“

“We are from Connecticut, and during a recent trip to the Bay Area, we had the extreme good fortune to try the Afghan Awasana Kabob House. Oh my ... what an experience! The food was superb … an epicurean delight, but also plentiful, and very reasonably priced. The qabuli palow - a lamb shank dish was a standout, and the squash bolani - a stuffed flatbread was out of this world. The owner was very friendly during dinner, only to be surpassed by what happened after our dinner. Upon leaving, our car would not start. The owner offered to jump start our car. When that did not work, he offered us a ride back to the house where we were staying ... which we gratefully accepted. On the way, while we were thanking him profusely, he indicated that this was not an imposition as he routinely gave rides to his workers. I was moved to tears with his generosity. The Afghan Awasana Kabob House stimulated my palate, satiated my appetite, and above all, nourished my soul with renewed faith in the kindness of humanity. A truly memorable evening that will not soon be forgotten.“
