Maiwand Village Reviews
While visiting the city of Fremont to shop for specialized services we look forward to fresh delicious Afghan cuisine and choose from several in the area. Maiwand Village is located in the neighboring city of Newark California in the South Bay Area. The food is fresh authentic and delicious.
My wife and I enjoyed a late lunch here. A nice spacious, clean ambiance as other diners had left. We had not tried Afghan cuisine, but our son said years ago that Newark was a hotbed for ethnic Afghan food.
We shared a bowl of Aush ( a subtle, but nicely spiced noodle vegetable soup with a little ground beef) - served hot and delicious; lamb kabob “Tikkah of Lamb”. Again appealingly marinated and spiced with flavorful brown rice. Superb.

Nice and clean place. We didn’t see many people dining but food was decent. The issue is service. They did not serve our appetizers until all the food was ready. In fact our Pakowra was cold and soft by the time it got served. The ice cream (Sheer Yakh) was on point!
