“The service was great, our waitress was kind and attentive. She shared information on their drink offers and we couldn’t help but to try the lemonade. She made a special little concoction and It was delicious, for sure. After ordering, our food was out in no time. It was fresh, plentiful, and flavorful. We had the fish and grits and an order of wings. We have zero complaints! We shared a plate and stuffed ourselves, and still had food left. Highly recommend!“

“Absolutely the finest Soul Food. You don't want to skip this place. I had the lunch portion of the Oxtail and chose the Candied Yams and Mac and Cheese as sides. It came with 2 Cornbread Muffins. “We ordered Dinner combo 9. We got our order after 15 minutes, which was quick. We tried the red snapper, and it's was good. The seasoning needs more spices, but the light coating was okay.The fried oysters were tasty, and the shrimp hit the spot. The sauces need to have more zing and tang to it. The fries had less salt but were not crispy enough. They have lots of fish to choose from. They also have chicken menu.Overall, this was a good place to order seafood and take out dinner. They don't have tables inside, so you have to eat in the car or take it home.“

“As for Fried Chicken goes, Honey Kettle is one of the better ones in Southern California. The simplicity of the goods is what makes this staple good. There isn't many frills, but good fresh chicken cooked with some care.

There have been some small issues with service from time to time, but overall I would maintain their high rating because of the delicious chicken they serve.

There are some hit and misses with their sides, but certainly do get their beans.

Portions are not big, but there is nothing wrong with over-ordering something that could be finished later.“

“Cajun outdoor shack with fried seafood options, gumbo, and even alligator. There’s a small parking lot behind the building. Credit cards are accepted. Outdoor dining only (no indoor options) and there’s delivery and takeout available. As other reviews and the sign on their window notes,you won’t get the food quickly since it’s slow food and that’s part of the whole experience. You scan a QR code to get the menu. I opted for a fried catfish and five shrimp plate which came with an option of two small sides. I got the red beans and rice as well as fries. The red beans and rice were hot and comforting; the fries are crinkle cut. The plate came with a side of tartar sauce and there are hot sauces and ketchup available at each table. They have a paper towel roll and hand sanitizer at each table as well. The fish isn’t as seasoned as I would’ve expected but the shrimp was super fresh and tasty. I had leftovers and they still kept relatively well the next day.“

“It's small and gets crowded at peak hours. I like the chicken. It's slightly different from the other franchises. The french fries are very good. It's cheaper than the bigger franchises. I like that you can choose between drumsticks, thighs, or wings. Mix and match what you want. Their prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend you give them a try.

Parking: I only go to their restaurant on MLK near the corner of Vermont. But there are more locations.“
