I’ve been coming to Berolina for almost 60 years. Still my favorite bakery!
I bought a black forest cake for my Mom's birthday. We assumed the cake should be nice. When we open the box the cake was shift to the side, luckily not collapae. No wonder the cashier didn't show me the cake when I picked it up. The taste of the cake is good not too sweet, we expect the edge of the cake is chocolate flakes not cake crumbs. Berolina Bakery is a classic neighborhood bakery and cafe. It features excellent pastries and tasty coffee drinks, a delicious lunch time menu, and wonderfully delectable bread. Their soups are different everyday. For European pastries, this bakery is the best, with items like the poppyseed danish and apricot danish. The bread is pretty decent, and the pastries are delicious. Coffee is amazing. There are tables to sit at outside, and a few inside. Customers can sit in sun or shade. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the service is kind and friendly. It is a family spot and good with kids. However, the bakery requires orders a week ahead for a sandwich cake or any specialty cake, and orders must be sent by email only. Some feel that over the years the quality has declined, and workers do not seem quite happy there. Overall, it is a sweet cozy old fashion style European bakery with amazing bread, cakes, pastries, and quiche.
