A blissful, quaint, charming restaurant that lacks real great, memorable food (aside from the titular split pea soup), but makes up for it in the fact that it acts as a time capsule for the iconic I-5 and its passersby. While driving along I-5 north or south, we stopped at this iconic restaurant, famous for its pea soup for a quick lunch. I ordered the Ruben sandwich with coleslaw. For an additional price Hap-Pea deal included a bowl of split pea soup and beverage. Since I shared half my sandwich and all the soup with my spouse, he chose a chocolate milk shake as the beverage choice. The server was kind to bring me a small cup to share a taste of the soup.
