“This place was referred to me by a co-worker, since I don’t know the area very well. What a great referral the pizza is like you build it how you want, but with an old skool pizzeria. It isn’t like Pieology. They have canned soda drinks, or two liter bottle soda, no alcohol. Vito the guy who made my pizza to perfection was telling me they have a really good Sunday BBQ from ribs, Tri-tip, 1/2 chicken, etc. They are only open in the evening hours, and the pizza is good size portion. Their small is the size of most mediums at other places. I highly recommend this place. A little more in price, but well worth the fresh ingredients and they won’t take tips.“

You can't taste Earl Grey strongly, but it was flavorful. As for persimmon, you can taste lumps of persimmon as you sip the liquid yogurt. I actually like the taste of yogurt by itself and I would prefer to order plain next time.“

“Favorite Sichuan restaurant in California! Definitely the most authentic Sichuan food I’ve ever had in the states (yes I’m from Sichuan so take my word for it lol)
We live in the Bay Area, but whenever we’re visiting LA, we go to this place because of the great taste.
We ordered rabbit, beef and beef. The portions were HUGE. Every dish was flavorful, and it’s amazing that they picked seasonal vegetables to complement the flavor of the meat in each dish. And the spiciness is really close to what I had back at home in Sichuan. The chengdu fried rice(this should be the name if I remember it correctly) is also very good, not oily at all.
The restaurant owner is also very nice and she told us the rabbit meat is fresh from the butcher shop everyday, which sets this restaurant apart from others. (Well, this is the only restaurants in the states that I have ever been to that serves rabbit on the menu, so I really appreciate that)

On to the food - Gourmet Carribean is a must try! the oxtails, jerk chicken, curry chicken, chick peas and the Friday special, Jerk Salmon. Everything I've tried is delicious. “As someone who’s passionate about clean eating and mindful of digestive health, I’m always looking for restaurants that balance authenticity with freshness and care. My visit to GS Cafe was a wonderful experience that checked many of those boxes.

I ordered the veggie platter, which came with great portion sizes and fresh ingredients enough for a 2 or 3 more meals! The injera appeared to have some barley mixed with teff, so while it wasn’t entirely gluten-free (as other reviewers mentioned), it was still light, fluffy, and beautifully made. I did miss a bit of that traditional sour tang, but it was clear that real attention went into its preparation.

The Key Sir (beets) were the star of the show — tender, perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful. Honestly, it was the best beet dish I’ve ever had.
The Misir Wot (red lentils) was surprisingly mild — a thoughtful touch for those sensitive to spice like me. The entire platter leaned toward a gentler spice profile than most of the 50+ platters I’ve tried over the years, but the staff provided traditional spice mix on the side, which was a lovely option for those wanting an extra kick.

The Gomen (greens) had more of a creamed-collard texture than the al dente style I prefer, but it was still well-seasoned. The Fasolia (string beans) and Atkilt (cabbage and carrots) were cooked nicely, though a touch on the oily side — not enough to upset my stomach, but it could be lighter.

And wow! the Ethiopian smoothie was a beautiful surprise! A refreshing blend of avocado, mango, and strawberry, it struck the perfect balance of sweet, fresh, and hearty.

The staff were outstanding; kind, welcoming, and clearly proud of their food. The young man who served me had such a positive attitude that it genuinely added to the warmth of the meal.

Overall, GS Cafe is an excellent choice for those trying Ethiopian food for the first time or for anyone seeking authentic flavors served in a gentle, stomach-friendly way.“

We ordered the Beef Empanadas to start and we got these mains - Salmon Bowl, Peri Peri Chicken Plate, California Burger, Gaucho Steak Sandwich to share.

The Beef Empanada was so good, with the flakey crust. Our entire party really enjoyed all the dishes, the portions were generous and tasted delicious. We also got the Triple Chocolate Cookie which was the perfect finish.

Overall, this is a great option for lunch and dinner. They also have a nice patio that’s dog friendly. Their staff was ultra friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!“

“The mazemen here is soooo good! I tried Mogu Mogu before this and it’s essentially the same thing but I personally think Mazera is better. The chashu is very good not dry and the portion can feed more than one person, especially if you add the rice at the end. I always end up with leftovers which I eat the next day and it’s still nice the next day.“

They are pet friendly as I saw pet owners bring their dogs in. I asked the barista for recommendation. The barista was very patient and knowledgeable about their coffee. She recommended the big island latte and collagen crush. The big island latter has macadamia nuts flavor to it. It reminds me about Hawaii. The name is the perfect match of this coffee. The collagen crush is a health choice. They also offered a big package for purchase that we can brew it ourselves at home.

Came by again in 2 weeks, and the coffee came o it as good as the first time! Great quality control! Will continue to stop by if I am in the area.“
