18 Best Sushi Bars near Hughson

“We LOVE coming to Hughson Asian Kitchen for their Sushi offerings.
Highly recommend the Vegetable Tempura (huge portion, 13 pieces), and the Dream Girl roll, Hulk roll, Warrior roll, and Scallop Roll.
(Going to try the Gorilla Roll next time🤗)

We will visit this restaurant again and again for the Sushi rolls mentioned above (and pictured below)!😋

Note: in our opinion, The Spider-Man roll and Lion King roll weren’t bad, but didn’t rise to the excellent level of the other rolls. Also, their Chinese food wasn’t our favorite, but wasn’t terrible.“

“Absolutely loved my visit to Samurai Sushi. I doordash them sometimes, and it's delish, but recently I went in for my 30th birthday and was pleasantly surprised with the inside. It is very cozy and well decorated, with a view of the kitchen from the bar. I had a party of six, and there was not enough seats at first, but they were very kind in asking if we'd like to order to go. Thankfully a table opened up in less than five minutes so we got to eat in. The service was courteous and quick, and the food didn't take long to come out either. We had the 209 roll, the Hulk roll, chicken teriyaki bowl, two orders of California rolls and a bowl of ramen, I don't remember which kind, as well as calimari, egg rolls and shrimp tempura for appetizers. Everything came out in a timely manner and was delicious, I really loved my 209 roll, it's deepfried and amazing. We also had fountain drinks, they have coke products. If I had one food to eat for the rest of my life it could be that sushi lol“

“This sushi restaurant is high quality! I ordered the seaweed salad and it had just the right amount of texture and flavor. The gyōza was good but the dipping sauce saved it. I got the golden dragon roll and I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was fresh and the spicy mayo was tangy. The fried squid was chewy but crispy.“

“I went here expecting budget-friendly sushi and that’s what I got. Similar to Safeway sushi where the cuts of fish are thinner than usual. The rice with the nigiri tasted strongly of rice vinegar.

The next plate we got was Teriyaki Combination Plate. The flavor of the noodles was excellent although the chicken texture was pretty dry. I wish the portions were bigger.

Overall, I would stick to the plates and not go towards the sushi. It’s best to go to a dedicated sushi restaurant for that part.
I wish they were open on weekends! I’m sure most of the business would come from those days.

“This place has always been a good spot for sushi. I came in today and took a take out order of a bento box. There was an item that was accidentally missed so I went back and they were so polite to add california rolls with the item that I missed. The service is amazing and the owner and staff are so polite. I recommend the food and the service, they make sure to provide a good experience.“

“Amazing egg rolls and combo plate. When we went there last night the owner greeted us took our order and made our food.
He told us he has been there for 37 years. We were truly surprised with the 1st bite of the egg roll. My wife said they were the best she has had. I would have to agree. After that we enjoyed our combo chicken plate which was also amazing!! Their prices are also really good too. Will definately be back!!!“

“Whenever we are in Modesto, this is our favorite Poke Bowl place. The employees are always quiet but pleasant. The food is terrific; we wish they gave the option to hand mix it. We often struggle to combine the bowls because of the amount of food in them. The fountain drinks seem to always be on the flatter side. There are about three groups of 4-person tables and one two-person table near the window. It's a simple, self-serve dining experience.“
