“Found this place on Google looking for a restaurant near the hotel family was staying at. What a gem!The restaurant is located in a shopping center, with a unassuming store front, but like many small businesses, don't let that fool you. We walked in on a Friday night and it was full with a wait list (they use the Yelp wait list feature, you log yourself in), but there were only two parties in front of us and the wait was less then 20 minutes.Once we were seated we shared an order of garlic edemame and gyōzas. The edemame was full of flavor with lots of fresh sautéed garlic, the gyōzas were crispy and the filling moist and yummy. We ordered a number of rolls, two traditional, two cucumber wrapped - Rainbow, Dragon Crunch, SP Crab and Sakura and one Chicken Teriyaki Plate. The fish was so fresh, prepared beautifully and presented elegantly.Service was quick and everyone was so welcoming. Would definitely visit again if I'm in the Livermore area. The shear volume of takeout and delivery orders in addition to a long wait list by the time we left tells me that many agree with me about the quality of the food here.“
“The place was nice and quant. The staff were all so friendly and our waitress was very attentive to us. Food… very delicious!!Vegetarian options: There are sushi rolls that don’t have any type of meat or fish you can choose from.Parking: Lots of parking spotsKid-friendliness: Just a typical place a kid could go for food.“
“First time customer! More of a classic sushi restaurant feel! Would be a cool date spot as the ambience is very intimate! Food ordered: Bento A; salmon teriyaki and tempuraVolcano roll! Five start for first feelings will adjust after eating!“
“Excellent sushi. My wife asks for the Dragon roll every time that she comes here. She even sends me out to get it for her for lunch whenever she has a yearning for it. Polite and friendly staff and owner. Best Japanese food in Livermore, Dublin and Pleasanton that I've had in years. Reasonable price and doesn't make me feel like I'm being robbed whenever I order sushi. I highly recommend Kiseki to anyone who likes sushi, Ramen and Udon.“
“Nestled in the heart of downtown, Livermore. Roppogi is a haven for Japanese cuisine enthusiasts. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by an inviting ambiance. What we had...Uni Our culinary adventure began with a delicate plate of uni. Very fresh and buttery! Uni lovers—this dish is a must-try! They are pretty generous with the amount of Uni on the sushi.Sushi/Sashimi Platter: The sushi platter was a work of art. Each piece was meticulously crafted, showcasing the freshest fish and vibrant ingredients. I had to ask if the sushi chef was the owner cause you just can tell if their heart was put into their dish.***Seafood (momo)Salad: A refreshing medley of crisp greens, sashimi, and tender octopus—this salad was a symphony of textures. The tangy dressing with a hint of spice tied it all together beautifully.Shrimp Tempura: Crispy fried to perfection.Garlic Edamame: edamame was perfect with our beer and sake. Staff exudes warmth and hospitality. We were driving from LA to SF and we are definitely stopping by Roppongi again.I've been to many Japanese restaurants but this is definitely a hidden gem in Livermore.“
“My wife took me here to celebrate my birthday while we were in town for business. It was your typical hibachi restaurant; the food was decent, and the chef was very nice and attentive. I ordered the lobster tail with shrimp and fried rice with mixed vegetables, while my wife ordered the scallops and chicken fried rice with mixed vegetables. However, the restaurant, especially upon entering the restaurant and in the dining room, was rather unkempt. Some furnishings required a thorough wipe down, and cobwebs were evident in certain areas upon entering. Upon being seated, we noticed that all our plates had a greasy residue. Given the price of over $120 for two people, one would anticipate the atmosphere to match with the price point.Pros:-Decent hibachi-style food.-Friendly and attentive chef.Cons:-Dirty dining room with cobwebs and greasy plates.-Some furnishings needed to be wiped down.“
“I thought it was seaweed sushi, but it was literally a piece of pocket sushi, like a rice ball. Although it was less than the average American food, it was full and tasty. The amount was just right for me.It felt a bit expensive for the price, but it was a light and satisfying meal.“
“I liked the white modern interior design. I enjoyed the glass noodle appetizer. I got the salmon jaw really enjoyed it. The fish was juicy. Someone in my group got the omakase and they said that the rice was a little dry. Everyone else who got tendons really enjoyed them. I liked how we had a water pitcher and a ?barley? tea pitcher at the table so that we could serve ourselves. My party also liked how there were pickled vegetables dishes at the table that we could help ourselves to.“
“Everything I ordered was great and the prices were reasonable. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five is because they do not sell regular shrimp. The only shrimp they sell is coconut shrimp, and I'm allergic to coconut. It would've been awesome to have a fish and shrimp combo, even if I had to pay for the shrimp separately.“
“No frills good solid sushi place. Mid price sushi place with fresh fish and generous portions. No unusual fish or higher end varieties. Order from counter and they bring food to table. That is the extent of service. Dining room looks like a diner from any town USA. Mariachi band music was playing when I was there.“
“For over 25 years SOZO has been our favorite sushi place. The food is excellent and the selection is considerable. Service is with a great staff. O matter your in a table, booth or sushi bar, you get great food and a wonderful meal. Try and you will love it.Vegetarian options: Great selectionDietary restrictions: Will accommodateParking: Plenty to use“
“Second time in two months. Love this place. Tonight having the teriyaki tofu with soup, salad, and rice. Cubes of silky tofu on a bed of lettuce and shredded cabbage with vegetables. The vegetable tempura appetizer plate was perfect and lasted only a few minutes. Partner had the cherry blossom. Yummy! Great service. VERY clean restaurant. Tucked away in the corner of strip mall near the Round Table Pizza. Dining area in back big enough for a team lunch or dinner“
“The goal was to go get some Thai food, but we stumbled upon this Sushi spot. before I go in, I had to look up the reviews and the reviews were 4.5 so I went in for a try. Upon entry I was immediately greeted by the entire staff everyone speaks and acknowledges you upon entry and departure. So of course, I always have to try something different, so I found something different which was grilled edamame I don't know how to explain this, but it was fabulous & flavorful I had to order another one. I did order some Sushi which was fresh and tasty as well. I definitely recommend this establishment if you're in the area looking for Sushi. There are a lot of big box restaurants in the area, but nothing beats the mom & pops small establishment, AWESOME.“
“I’ve been to many Sushi restaurants in Dublin, so far Nara Sushi is the best overall from the food quality, portions, pricing, authenticity and atmosphere. The service was excellent. I ordered Nara roll, Tiger roll and Regular 9pc Nigiri. All food was excellent and fresh! Also we got to try Ebi Tempura, Fried Oyster and Takoyaki as appetizers, no complaint all good. Right now they have special Spicy Tuna toro Gunkan (tuna belly fatty) that was full of flavor! One more thing, they have very good Unagi Bowl and Whe du Bap. Try them all you won’t regret :)“
“Really good food, everything tasted great, super clean and spacious. The Gyoza was delicious. But unfortunately the customer service wasn’t good at all, I didn’t get his name but he’s a heavier set waiter and everything about him was just rude towards us. His demeanor, the service (never checked on us had to ask another waiter multiple times, I asked if he could show me where I can find cooked sushi rolls and just said “it’s in there” regardless it’s unfortunate that bad customer service can impact all the other great qualities this restaurant has to offer. I really hope next time the service is different.Kid-friendliness: The price for the kids Bento box was great! And the amount was perfect!“
“Absolutely love this sushi restaurant! Haven't been in a while because I no longer live near, but I was a loyal customer here for years. Their sashimi is fresh and delicious. More importantly, they have some of the best rolls in the area. The thing I would say they are best known for is exceptional sauces. If you love a good sushi roll that doesn't require soy and wasabi, this is the place to go. Their roll menu is inventive, fun, and delicious. They also have great bento boxes and the bar is more than adequate. The staff at this restaurant give it a local downhome diner sort of vibe, and it's a great place to bring the family.“
“This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Pleasanton. I like to eat here for lunch, it is not crowded and has a good selection of fresh fish. I always go for some nigiri, I love the Uni w/ Quail Egg, Aji, Kanpachi, Tamago, and Maguro. The Red Mountain Roll is my favorite, I also like the Four Seasons and Salmon Lover. I would highly recommend trying this place if you are in the area. The staff here is great and very friendly.“
“Bit of a mixed review here. I would say this is a combination of a three and five star review. The five star goes to the food. They have some of the best sashimi in the area: the salmon is as buttery as you can get, and I cannot recommend their sashimi plates enough. If you go here, go here with that purpose and you will not be disappointed. The three stars goes to service. Over time, we managed to get a regular server and she would give us pretty good service. However, it took a while to get there. I'm not sure if the restaurant is just perpetually understaffed, or if there is some other issue going on, but we've gone half an hour without speaking to someone before. It was at that point where you are ready to get up and walk out when we finally saw a server.“
“We love this place! Getting a poke bowl here is our main motivation to go to the premium outlet! It’s a 50 minute drive for us but we make sure to stop and eat there regardless of time of the day. The ingredients are way more fresh than the poke bowls we had in south bay, they have more topping options, miso soup os great, and the price is fair.“
“Over the years (30 +) the menu has slightly slightly. There are no longer space shuttle dining plates for the kids. But the food has been consistently good. Enjoy this quiet Japanese restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible, kid friendly, and easy parking.“
“Not great options for vegetarians and it was fun for kids. I think I like ordering sushi for myself which is specially made instead of bulk sushi’s on conveyer belt. Kids loved it definitely recommend for people with kids. 15 plates sounded far fetched but you don’t realize it“
“This place is delicious!!!! I got the unagi meal and some rolls. Clearly a small family business. They remembered my order from the last time I visited over a month ago. Instead of going to a chain, please think about supporting you local small business.“
“This is a great hibachi place.you can have great meal with entertainment. The chefs are really good and are really good at hibachi. It’s a lil pricey but great for occasions. Very less vegetarian options but they accommodated and made changes to include one vegetarian person we had in our group.Vegetarian options: Very less vegetarian optionsKid-friendliness: It’s a very kid friendly place. Kids loved the hibachi“
“This is a regular spot for us! The fish is fresh ?. They don’t have beer ? on tap or mixed drinks ?. Good prices on sushi ? boats?️. Their staff are very welcoming and the service is great! ?? after a couple visits they remembered us! Stop in and you will not be disappointed!Parking: It’s in the Chardonnay center with plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: They have chop sticks with a band on them for the kiddos.“
