Torarenbou Sushi Bistro has absolutely earned a permanent spot on my regular rotation, and I can’t recommend it enough.
Let’s start with the Beef Udon — it was superb. Rich, deeply savory broth, tender beef, and perfectly cooked noodles. The kind of bowl that makes you close your eyes on the first slurp. A must-order even if you’re there for sushi.
Speaking of sushi — the quality here is genuinely impressive. Fresh, clean fish and thoughtfully assembled rolls. My personal favorites are the Salmon Avocado Roll (classic done right — buttery salmon, creamy avocado, perfect ratio every time) and The Gambler, which lives up to its name in the best possible way. I stopped by after work to pick up a few different types of pockets, the service was great and the food was fresh and made quickly. “Excellent experience here. We came here for a birthday for all you can eat sushi and were pleasantly surprised. The fish was very fresh, great variety of Japanese cuisine to choose from (rolls, hand rolls, habachi, ramen, claypot, etc). They didn’t try to skim the customers by overfilling the sushi with massive rice (the fish to rice ratio was good). Definitely will come again!“

“Came for a late lunch. Greeted and sat down right away. Service was very good. Food was very good. Love this little spot, i will be back. Our table ordered, agedashi tofu, spicy miso ramen, tongkatsu ramen and hamachi Don. Everything was very tasty and fresh. Only small thing is the wasabi paste could have been stronger.“

“Another last minute dinner at one of the local restaurant in San Ramon. Senri Sushi has that cozy, neighborhood spot vibe that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. It’s not flashy, but that’s part of the charm, simple, welcoming, and focused on good food.

We ordered the crispy assorted tempura, which came out light, golden, and not greasy at all. Each piece had a nice crunch without overpowering the ingredients. The highlight, though, was the large sushi boat loaded with a variety of fresh fish. Everything looked beautifully presented and tasted just as good, clean flavors, soft texture, and high-quality cuts.

The soft shell crab was another standout—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor. It’s the kind of dish you keep reaching for until it’s gone.

We also tried the crispy salmon. The flavor was there, but it could’ve used a bit more crispiness, as the texture leaned slightly chewy instead of having that satisfying crunch you’d expect.

“The food at Kura is very consistent every time i come. Its a fun quick bite that is also super filling if you dont know how to pace yourself like me. With reservation i am usually in and out in about 30 minutes full and happy. Sometimes the drinks take a bit to reach the table but never unbearably long. Over all good experience.“

I had a rainbow roll and miso soup. My total was $14.85 after tax.

The roll wasn't awful. The rice was slightly overcooked, so it was mushy. It also didn't taste like there was any vinegar. The avocado, salmon, and shrimp looked fresh. The miso soup was piping hot. It was hard to open the bowl because the surface was 163°F according to my phone's thermometer. There were a few pieces of tofu and seaweed.

I sat in the dining area, which was pretty clean and can accommodate up to 16 people and a small child comfortably (high-chair available). The restroom was closed when I visited. The music was a mix of Cantonese and Mandarin songs. It's quiet enough for a conversation.

As for the ordering process, you can use a kiosk or order with an employee, then sit down and wait until your number is called.
