“We really enjoyed our experience at LuLu's. I got the impression this is a place alot of locals go to which makes it more special in my eyes. We split the Golden Beet and Citrus Salad which the kitchen was nice enough to split it for us, giving each of us our own serving. My husband had the grilled octopus. He's hard to please and he said it was very good. I had the lobster tortelloni. The sauce was light with a hint of sweetness and the the tortelloni was stuffed with lobster meat. Execellent. Then came dessert. We had a slice of Key Lime pie and I can honestly say it was the best I have ever had. Even better then Key West Key Lime pie. Dense but creamy with just the right amount of key lime flavor. Not overpowering. Can't wait to go back when we visit HHI again.“

“Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience here. The service was extremely poor, and our server was incredibly rude and had a bad attitude throughout our visit. He repeatedly rolled his eyes at us and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

What bothered us most was the way he served the food. Instead of placing the plates down normally, he would practically drop them onto the table from above with such an aggressive attitude that it felt disrespectful and almost as if he wanted to throw them at us.

Good food can’t make up for service that makes customers feel disrespected. I really hope management takes this seriously and provides better customer-service training.“

“We usually love this place. Last time though, there were some glitches. My summer fruit tea tasted like cough syrup mixed with coffee. The grilled pork tasted like it fell on a dish rag. The ice cream machine was dispensing milk. I think that machine has been broken almost every time we went for the last few months.

I hope they are not deteriorating...will give them another chance later and report back.“

Torarenbou Sushi Bistro has absolutely earned a permanent spot on my regular rotation, and I can’t recommend it enough.
Let’s start with the Beef Udon — it was superb. Rich, deeply savory broth, tender beef, and perfectly cooked noodles. The kind of bowl that makes you close your eyes on the first slurp. A must-order even if you’re there for sushi.
Speaking of sushi — the quality here is genuinely impressive. Fresh, clean fish and thoughtfully assembled rolls. My personal favorites are the Salmon Avocado Roll (classic done right — buttery salmon, creamy avocado, perfect ratio every time) and The Gambler, which lives up to its name in the best possible way. “Awesome food with reasonable price. Service was good and attentive. There are many choices on meats and veggies. Plus, they have hot food ready to eat. The fried chicken wings and chow mein are my kids favorite food. The lambs are fresh too. Therefore I come this place everyone with my family gathering.“

Their ingredients are always fresh and the customer service is great. I get it with a side of fries - the seasoning on the fries is sooo tasty, sometimes I ask for extra seasoning because it's that good. “I only got 8 ban chan, that's still ok. Just the side dishes alone made coming here worth it. The Yuk gae Jang spicy beef soup was very delicious, I use it as a barometer to determine the level of the chef kind of like you can use plain fried rice to determine the level of a Chinese chef.

1/2026- The potato ban chan is my personal favorite, followed up by the bean sprouts and kim chee.

“We moved into Avalon and having this gem right by us has been amazing. Our family stays at the holiday inn and we get breakfast together all within walking distance. The food is always fresh and really good! The staff is always friendly and welcoming with smiles. At night the bar is fun you can grab a drink and relax here. Don’t miss this spot! “It's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall in a Dublin strip mall which isn't where I'd expect to find a tasty Hainanese Chicken Rice plate and yet its the kind of unasuming place (next to a Ranch 99) that I'd expect a yummy surprise.

It was the latter.

I haven't explored every corner of the Bay Area but it's been a long time since I've had a really satisfying chicken rice. Chicken skin has a really nice chewy texture to it. The fat is well rendered but the meat is just cooked. I'm a little surprised there aren't reviews complaining about undercooked chicken but its just as it should be. Rice was nicely seasoned. Quail eggs and peanuts on the side were a nice addition.

The soup was also a really pleasant surprise. It had a nice silky quality and rich with chicken flavor but they did a really good job of skimming any extra fat to keep it from being oily.

The ginger and scallion was good and traditional but a sweet soy or a chili sauce would have been welcome additions.“
