“My husband and I found The Black Cat for our date night last night and it did not disappoint. It’s tucked in a cute spot on First Street opposite the fountain and has front patio, indoor, and back patio seating. We chose to sit inside because it was pretty chilly outside.
We started with cocktails. My cocktail was the Yuja Sun. It was perfectly mixed and had such a fresh and summery taste without being too sweet or too bitter. My husband asked our server for suggestions and ended up with the Siamese Sake Sour. This was beautifully served in a cocktail glass with a cucumber ribbon garnish. It was very tasty and summery.

We shared one snack and four small plates. It was the perfect amount of food and we didn’t have room for dessert. We started with the Wingen bakery sourdough (at the server’s suggestion to go along with the summer peaches) and the caviar chip (note this is actually only one potato chip so we did order two of these). The caviar chip was delicious and elegant and added a lot of luxury to our meal. The other plates we got were the crudo, the Japanese sweet potato, the summer peaches, and the whipped feta. Each dish was beautifully plated and presented. Flavors were all a great balance of sweet and savory. My favorite dishes was the summer peaches (peaches, cherries, ricotta, prosciutto) and the crudo. But really everything was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try some new stuff (especially a new drink).“

“Our favorite restaurant in Livermore now! Love the food. Grew up back east in an italian community. This place is legit! Huge portions. If you sit outside you need to go inside to order which was no problem at all. They can get very busy so be patient. It’s worth the wait. Kevin is so kind and helpful. For the image you see attached 3 people paid $25 each and it was incredible taste and quality everything was fresh and delicious, they have great deals to share for multiple people. My favorite was salmon sashimi and nigiri, unagi nigiri, albacore nigiri, yellow tail was great too. Special rolls were great too. Can’t wait to go back!!“

“This Japanese food was hands down the best I have ever eaten! I ordered their Ten Don (tempura donburi) and signature katsu don. The food arrived very fast and it was hot and freshly made. The katsu and the tempura was insanely crispy! Lastly the servers were very nice and patient when I was trying to figure out what to order. Overall I had an amazing experience and will come back again with my friends and family.“

“Stellar Vietnamese restaurant with an extensive menu including fruit smoothies. Food was very tasty. Vietnamese coffee was delicious. Shaken beef was really good. Fried tofu and garlic green beans were great. Love the oldies music (60s and 70s) they play.“

Parking: Parking is available in a typical strip mall parking lot. Spots may be difficult to find right in front of the store if it's a popular time / on weekends.“

“Best place in town for affordable sushi! I come here about once a week and usually get the sushi lunch special. It's under $20 and comes with miso soup, salad, a roll, and five pieces of nigiri sushi. I have tried other menu items and they are good too. There is better sushi in Livermore, but sushi zone has prices that are noticeably more affordable without sacrificing taste or quality.

The staff is friendly and it has a laid back atmosphere. Quick service too. There is a huge parking lot so you can easily park and walk in.“

“We recently visited this place for brunch and loved it. The quality and quantity of the food was very good. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was not too crowded. They had limited staff but took care of us well. I will definitely eat here again.“

“Needed some pizza for a birthday party and tried out this location for the first time. Everything was excellent. I ordered ahead of time and my food was ready by the 12:15 time I selected. When I arrived the staff was super friendly and they mentioned I also got free soda which was a nice addition. The signature garlic combo is genuinely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten and I’m coming back specifically to get this again. They also have great specials listed on the website. Everything inside the store also looked super clean and well maintained.“

My aunt, who lives in Livermore, brought us there since it’s one of her favorite restaurants, and now I understand why. The three of us shared the House Special Dinner, which was a fantastic spread. It included fried prawns, egg rolls, barbecued spare ribs, Mandarin orange beef, prawns with snow peas, honey walnut prawns, and house fried rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The honey walnut prawns were especially memorable, and every dish had great balance and taste. The variety made it perfect for sharing, and we left very satisfied. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall dining experience was excellent. It’s not exactly light on the wallet—the price is $32.95 per person as of March 2026—but considering the amount and quality of food you receive, it felt like a very good value. I would absolutely recommend Canton Village to anyone looking for delicious Chinese food in Livermore.“
