12 Best Cocktail Bars in Livermore

“My husband and I found The Black Cat for our date night last night and it did not disappoint. It’s tucked in a cute spot on First Street opposite the fountain and has front patio, indoor, and back patio seating. We chose to sit inside because it was pretty chilly outside.
We started with cocktails. My cocktail was the Yuja Sun. It was perfectly mixed and had such a fresh and summery taste without being too sweet or too bitter. My husband asked our server for suggestions and ended up with the Siamese Sake Sour. This was beautifully served in a cocktail glass with a cucumber ribbon garnish. It was very tasty and summery.

We shared one snack and four small plates. It was the perfect amount of food and we didn’t have room for dessert. We started with the Wingen bakery sourdough (at the server’s suggestion to go along with the summer peaches) and the caviar chip (note this is actually only one potato chip so we did order two of these). The caviar chip was delicious and elegant and added a lot of luxury to our meal. The other plates we got were the crudo, the Japanese sweet potato, the summer peaches, and the whipped feta. Each dish was beautifully plated and presented. Flavors were all a great balance of sweet and savory. My favorite dishes was the summer peaches (peaches, cherries, ricotta, prosciutto) and the crudo. But really everything was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try some new stuff (especially a new drink).“

“I would say this place has some vibe and makes a strong first impression the moment you walk in. The mirrored entrance room is really unique, and once inside, the place feels stylish and cozy, though the lounge area does get a bit tight, especially on a busy Friday night. The bar itself is beautiful with the lit-up marble top that really stands out, and the spacious unisex bathroom was a nice surprise.

The holiday atmosphere was a big plus. The giant, glowing Christmas tree in the middle of the lounge and Christmas carols playing in the background made the whole place feel warm and festive.

Food-wise, the chicharrones were very well! seasoned and are a must-try, especially paired with the guac. The smoked old fashioned lived up to its name and was extremely smoky, which will appeal to anyone who enjoys bold, heavy smoke flavors.

The only downside was the service. Even though it was busy, the attention lagged, and we ended up waiting over 20 minutes for our drinks, which took away from the experience.

Oh, and make sure to validate the open hours and get that password on the Instagram before you get in.

Overall, it’s a stylish and festive spot for cocktails with a great atmosphere, but quicker service would make it an easy five stars.“

“By far the best place to get food. I personally love the Nachos they are big enough to share. However I never want too. I have had just about everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed me yet. Now I compare every place to cinco taco bar and nothing is comparable.“

We stop by here every time we come to Livermore. This is a no frills bar and a lot of locals come here and hang out.

I arranged a family reunion for 40 persons to this restaurant and right away felt welcome with Luis taking reservation.There was another family celebration by the patio adjacent to us. By later in the evening it was one big celebration with everyone dancing and enjoying the night. There was a bit of a glitch with payment arrangement but by no means diminished positive experience. So to avoid confusion, just reiterate with wait staff payment arrangements on day of event. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere at the patio complemented the relaxed evening. Everyone in our family had so much fun. Thank you for helping make our family time so memorable!“
