Northern Cafe Westpark is a no-nonsense local eatery serving hearty, flavorful northern Chinese comfort food. Portions are incredibly generous with spot-on traditional tastes. The servings are so substantial that a full spread will fill you up completely. Known for carb dishes like xiao long bao, dumplings, soup noodles, fried rice, and Chinese pancakes, the menu also offers skewers during dinner. The lamb skewer is the best, and other options include chicken cartilage, scallops, Cali flowers, corn, and fish tofu. Cold dishes are only $14.99 for a combination of 3, and the spicy cold chicken uses dark meat and is tender and flavorful. Other recommended dishes include Beijing style pancakes with beef filling, pork ribs with string beans in hotpot, and the golden soup beef pot. The spicy fried chicken is super flavorful. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, clean and comfortable, with great service and a lot of staff. Some dishes can feel oily, so ordering a lighter dish may help balance the meal. They do not offer regular spicy hot pot on Mondays. It gets busy on weekends but is well worth it.
