“We came out for Kernville Kampout and passed Kern River Tavern a few times. It's only about a year old but definitely has the neighborhood charm of a decades-long watering hole. We were lucky to make it for Bingo (Sundays at 4pm)! $1 per game, per card. We got smoked by the local crowd . The bartender LaLa was so friendly and gave us tons of great recommendations on drinks (whiskey sour vs old fashioned), sights to see nearby (nature-made water slide) and restaurants (McNally's for steak) to eat at. I enjoyed my whiskey sour and my boyfriend liked his beer! Saw some Harley memorabilia on the walls Had a great time. Note: no food, just a few chip bags or Chex mix available.“
“This main stay, in Santa Barbara, has the most eclectic and interesting crowd. The bartenders and waiting staff are extremely friendly and the customers are a trip. just my type of people. Be prepared to get a rideshare. Lol. For people who don't want the hassle of getting dressed up and being pretentious. It can be a most enjoyable outing. Definitely every time I go to Santa Barbara I try to stop there as long as I'm not driving lol.“
“Arkie's ambiance is a true old time honky-tonk type bar. It's NOT for those barely over 21looking for Appletinis or Kale smoothies with a shot of liqueur in them. An Arlie's evening is like traveling back in time right and stepping out in your favorite country song. The prices are on the low end and the patrons know each other by name. Expect to wait a bit to sing on Karaoke night as the rotation can be quite lengthy. With the right attitude, you're sure to have a memorable experience.“
“Quaint little dive on the main drag through Kernville. The parking lot is tiny. They have a stage and live music a few times per year. Used to have a nice house band that kept the place popping until one of the members flew the coup and they dissolved. The bartender was friendly and talkative. The owner has put the place up for sale in case you're interested in owning such a gem.“
