I'm new to California and in the past eight months I've been looking for gay bars and gayborhoods in the metro area other than in West Hollywood and am delighted to have found this bar. I have a good time every time I go and the people are really friendly and easy to talk to. I like its divey, rustic interior. The only dumb thing is that I live in Westminster and have to Uber there and back and that gets expensive. I'd actually really like to move to that little Long Beach gayborhood...read full review
I was there back in May and there was this African American gentleman playing disco and he had a unusual DJ name. I freaking loved his sound, he was playing disco I've never heard of before. All I remember was that he had a neon light of a CDU with his setup. What is his DJ name and are y'all gonna bring him back?
I've been going to local gay bars solo since April and this is my favorite! The vibe is great, dance floor is fun, and I meet new friends each time I go. People have a more chill vibe here than other bars in my experience.

Mineshaft is a favorite on the Broadway strip with welcoming staff who serves great drinks even when busy. The bar itself is cool and visitors enjoy the relaxed vibe. While some feel the bar's atmosphere is changing due to street vendors in front, others appreciate the friendly service and look forward to returning for a fun evening experience. Drinks are strong and bartenders are fast and attentive. The ambiance is amazing with great music and the place is very well air conditioned, making it a great spot to dance and have a good time. Mineshaft also has an outdoor patio and occasionally features go-go dancers and jello shots, making it a nice little neighborhood bar.
