“If I'm close enough to LBC I tend to get Chinese here as they have a nearly 50/50 menu offering vegan dupes of classics. They have meal specials which will give you drink, egg roll, and entree, so it's very affordable for a substantial dining experience. Over the years they've added ramen (although I secretly miss the rice burger, which was squished between crispy rice patties instead of buns). My fave is the New Orleans chicken. The vegan items are made to order and can take some time, so be prepared to be patient.“

“Eating here had me reminiscing of summer time as a child. It’s like getting out of the swimming pool and having a tasty sandwich and a root beer float with your buddies. Staff here were super friendly and funny. Food was very affordable and of superb quality considering its price. I look forward coming back, 5 stars all day“

“I do not have to drive to LA anymore when I can satisfy my cravings for Galbi-jim here! I absolutely love this place from food and service. The food is so delicious, we had a party of four, and we ordered the soy sauce galbi-jim and it was enough for all of us. Our host was splendid too, he was like the chill uncle in the family LOL. Absolutely coming back here soon with more people.“

“Went here upon reading the reviews. It's not bad, but I was craving more flavor from the dishes. Perhaps I'm used to MSG in my Chinese food and am okay with it.I ordered the salt and pepper pork chops, shrimp with black bean sauce, Mongolian beef, and house fried rice.Overall, not bad, but I am used to stronger flavors.“

“It was so busy here on a weekend, I'd recommend coming right when they open or have someone waitlist at the front ahead of time. We waited nearly 45 minutes after waitlisting, standing outside in the cold the whole time. I can see why the restaurant is so popular, but in the future I won't wait there longer than 15 minutes because there are plenty of other great places to eat at without having to wait so long. The first thing on the menu that caught my eye was that they had BOGOhalf-off drinks. Cambo Khrack Iced Coffee and Jasmine with Sea Salt Cream were good but super strong and sweet (gave me the jitters). They're also huge, so they lasted me a long time, especially after diluting the iced coffee with more milk and ice. Moving on to the food: house special rice porridge and noodles with pork bone soup gave us a nice sense of comfort that was perfect for a chilly day. The combination stir fry noodles weren't all the great, though, despite it being described as a favorite among customers. I preferred the umami flavors and different textures from the porridge and other noodles. Lastly, the crispy fried banana dessert was delicious! We ate these up real fast, but I felt that it was too expensive for what seemed like two halves of a banana battered and deep-fried. Staff were friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible, which we appreciated. We sat outside, and they started up one of those portable heaters for us when it got windy and overcast. They seemed very young (college-aged) but knowledgeable about RiceString's offerings.“

“My niece wanted Tom Kha and were looking for That place that was still open near where we were. Decided to give this place a try especially since it looked like a family owned business. The staff was welcoming as they all said hello. We ordered of course the Tom Kha very mild, Panang chicken, pineapple fried rice and of pad see ew. The Tom Kha was flavorful, with the lemongrass coming through and hint of sweetness. The pineapple fried rice was delicious especially when I had it with the panang which was good. My sister thought it was interesting to see raisins in the fried rice. I didn't try the pad see ew but my niece liked it. I will go back to try more items.“

“This place was spectacular starting with the staff! MJ general manager made us feel so welcomed and his attitude along with the rest of his team is the reason why we fell so in love with this place. The food and desserts were amazing! The music playing on the other side half of the restaurant by the bar, was such a good vibe! I’ll definitely will be back! Thank you MJ and team for the attention you gave my husband and I! Can’t wait to visit again!“

“I've been coming here for years !!!! The service is excellent and the food is amazing. I come here at least one a month or once every other month to treat myself . The sweet spicy wings are to die for. I highly recommend those with the stirfry Mongolian noodles with the strawberry peachy tea. I would give this place 10 stars if I could“

“This is truly a gem of a hole in the wall!! Almost literally, and I say that with respect and appreciation. This cute little eatery is easy to miss, being tucked in a very small strip mall (if it even qualifies as that!) between a small pharmacy and a laundromat, just south of the Arco on the corner of PCH and Pacific. But once you have eaten here, boy oh boy is it hard to forget!I come here about once every other week when I'm on a regular work schedule. Became hooked immediately with their unique bahn mi sandwiches and their pate chaud. Now I'm completely obsessed with their plant-based shrimp spring rolls and their grilled pork bun bowl. That bowl is the perfect balance of light and filling, flavorful and refreshing. It is one of my lunch go-to options. And the plant-based shrimp rolls are AMAZING. Obviously I'm not vegan, but this is an item that I enjoy so much despite it all.I have yet to try their pho. Maybe one of these days. They do have seating inside, but no restroom. Also, parking lot is small and shared, so I avoid coming during peak lunch hours, usually after 1 to pick up my food, and I've had no issues.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, flavorful too!Parking: Parking lot is pretty small and shared with a pharmacy, laundromat and discount store.“
