Respectable taco shop in the East Long Beach area. The tacos are a bit expensive at $2.5/taco, but the wet burrito at $11 is a steal! Taco meats are respectable, but tend to vary from visit to visit. Long line at lunch may take 20 min standing in the sun for an order.
I just ordered a little bit of everything I thought I'd like and I absolutely love every dish. The carne asada burrito is so full of flavor, the mulita has a cheese pull that will pull you right in for the best bite of your life, and the potato tacos, the potato tacos deserve to be said twice they are so delicious it compliments everything perfectly. Highlights include the carne asada, pollo, and carnitas tacos, which are juicy and taste great with lots of meat options. The carne asada fries and Sopes are also highly recommended. The sauces are standout, especially the spicy guac, the signature orange sauce, and the guacamole salsa. There are self-serve, freshly made salsas and other condiments. Naturally, there are plenty of gluten-free options with corn tortillas.
Service is incredibly fast, quick, and kind, with waits often under 10 minutes even on busy days. It is convenient to call ahead to place an order, and payment options include Apple Pay, cash, or Zelle. Seating is very limited in the parking lot, so it is best for a to-go meal, and there is likely no restroom. It gets crowded, which is a testament to its quality. Vera's is highly recommended and a spot you won't regret trying.
