“You might have a doubt when you see where this place is, but go!! You're in this restaurant that is nice, clean, and cool and the decor feels so at home. It's beautiful! Being Mexican-American, I know these dishes and how delicious they are but let's be honest, HEAVY!! But these dishes hit the taste spot for some good Mexican Food! The Mole, the Tacos, the Suace, it all brings back memories, and when you think these are all Vegan ingredients you are just more enamored. The waitress, Alejandra, was so nice and so passionate about the restaurants and the dishes, it makes you smile. And always giving a shout-out to the cook for making delicious food but also very aesthetically cool dishes!“
“This hole in the wall in an old smallish strip mall is a true gem. Wonderful food, presentation and service. Their prices bring me back to the year 2010’s. Definitely a place I will visit again and recommend to family and friends. And good coffee – it tasted well without sugar or cream!“
“Before traveling to L.A. I googled best places to eat. Tacos LA Carreta was one of the suggestions. So after a full day of activities we decided to give it a try. Thank goodness we did! Best Tortas and tacos I ever had!! We will definitely make this a go-to for sure.“
“I've been searching for the perfect bean & cheese burrito and I think these guys pretty much have it. Choose black beans or refried, you can't go wrong. They'll offer to grill it for you (a must) and you can get a variety of salsas to go with. The salsa here really is special - try as many as you can!“
“Vegetarian options: Tacos, burrito ? and more available for vegan loversDietary restrictions: Very healthy and fresh and not greasy at allParking: Plenty of room for parking,no chargeKid-friendliness: Very friendly, beautiful Representatives of this restaurant, the chief was very polite and spoke to me and humble attitudes and clean environment especially..... great shrimp burritoWheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchairs also“
“Great spot, thanks Yelpers! The mans and I were doing some thrifting in LB and needed a bite and we settled upon this spot and I'm so glad we did. It was the perfect vibe for us. Not crowded and the music wasn't too loud so you can actually hear your date. My boyfriend got the lasagna and it was delicious! I will order this next time. When I think of lasagne I want it to taste like this. And at $16, if also comes with a generous side salad and a side of garlic bread. I got the chicken Marsala ($20) and it came with a generous portion of chicken, sauce, homemade mashed potatoes and the most wonderfully sautéed asparagus. Yum! We will come back here for sure. We had such a lovely meal, we even decided to try the peach cobbler for dessert ($10). It was a big portion that came a la mode. We left happy and full and even had some leftovers. Our server was sweet and attentive. Keep on rockin Tony's! Now we see why you get such great reviews. We will be back soon.“
“Great cocktails, excellent creative dishes, beautiful space. Has free parking across the street. Would be packed if it were in a fancier neighborhood or in LA. Hope more people in LB discover it!Vegetarian options: Definitely enough vegetarian options to get by, all quality.Parking: Street parking is usually tight, but there is reserved off street parking in a lot across the street that I've never seen full.“
“I don’t eat cheese — it makes my face break out. So I ordered a meal without cheese, and ordered that way, the flavor wasn’t great. I told my waiter (one of the Rivera family), and he wanted to bring me something else. I looked at him carefully to see if he meant it, and I could tell that he did.I told him I would think about it. When he came back, I told him I was thinking about the beef enchiladas, but worried that without the cheese, it wouldn’t be that good. He assured me that they would be flavorful. I said ok, and took them to-go.I’ve just eaten the beef enchiladas, and he was absolutely right: they were “¡Rico!”I enjoyed the food, appreciated the recommendation, and I’m now happy about the fact that the server insisted on getting something for me that I found delicious.I can’t imagine how tough it is to run a successful restaurant, and I feel they went above and beyond to make me happy. And the 3 Leches cake is also the bomb! I’ve only ever had 2 of them that were this good (in probably 30 years)!“
“Came on a Friday afternoon. Found 30 min parking out front. Greeted by friendly staff who allowed me time to look over their pretty simple menu. ORDERED: + pollo burrito ($10.50) -- 9/10 some pieces of pollo meat in the burrito gave beefy jerky texture vibes, but other than that it had really good flavor. + bean and cheese burrito ($9.25) -- 10/10 "it was delicious" is what I was told. + iced tea Ran $22 dollars with tip! OVERALL: Prices are reasonable for the portion size. I would like to see consistency in the cooking of their meat. Lastly, I would return again if I were in the area and try other menu items.“
“By far the best califries you can get and the best churros.Califries are amazing cause you can pick 2 meats. They have a wonderful bean and cheese burrito. I enjoy that they have pickled carrots and jalapeño, beans, cucumber and a variety of salsas.“
“High five to Linda's for another great dish! This morning was the menudo and it was pretty much perfect! Only thing missing was a piece of of pata but not sure if they offer here and I forgot to ask. Can't wait to come back and try a different dish. So far all their caldos/soups have been amazing!!! Cute little family run restaurant! #eatlocal“
“I have been coming to Joliza's since they opened and I am pleased to say they still have excellent food and service. Had the beef cheek tacos with an horchata today, but I've tried everything on the menu. Tacos were packed with juicy meat and the horchata was so creamy. The owner topped off my horchata while I was eating, which was so nice. It's little service touches like that that keep me coming back. Tho tbh I think I'd still go back if they were rude because that's how tasty it is.“
“We got our food to go, as my mother had some minor surgery on her foot recently, but the food was still wonderfully warm and amazingly good! We plan to return in the future!!!Parking: Parking is sparse in its parking lot and sort of cramped, so park carefullyWheelchair accessibility: They will help you into the building!“
“I ordered online from Hippo. The food was good. Salmon seemed a bit old and portion of scoop was too small. I've worked at a Poké restaurant before so I know my portions. Tuna was good and the side topping were not enough. The food itself as a whole is good.“
“Always eat local and support small businesses in my community.Today, I had the shrimp taco, and the flavors were mild, not overpowering. My friend had the El Burrito Ranchero. Also, I tried the ribs on takeout. They were falling off the bone. But I wish they could have used more seasoning. They offer their kale salad with a lot of their dishes, and it's really good. The owners are very kind service is always good.“
“Down to earth placeHomemade recipes it's a moma and papa owned and operated husband and wife team work very hard and does all the cooking I have been going to them for 20 years down to earth comfortable very small restaurant but the flavor of these dishes fabulous and satisfying has parking CASH ONLY BUT THE DO HAVE A ATM THERE JUST INCASE.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burrito breakfast rice beans eggsThey will work with you just think out side the box“
“I love their food! They have the BEST flavors and the soups, salads, and all of the dishes are my favorites! The service is friendly and there are long-time employees because it is family owned. They also own K Pasta in the same center and also delicious!“
“As someone from San Diego I always claimed our tacos are better but this food truck changed my mind. This is the best food truck for tacos and they are super affordable. every time I'm in LA I will make sure to drive down to Long Beach just to get to them fireeeee!“
“Delicious casual local spot! We got the enchiladas, tacos (birria were the best), tamales, and horchata. The owner was very friendly and patient with our limited Spanish. Indoor seating for ~15 and outdoor tables for ~10 people. Would highly recommend!!“
“Highly recommended!Great customer service, good atmosphere and yummy food. I love their deal which is 2 tacos with beer, great deal and the customer service is so kind, feels like I'm a part of a family!!!I love this place! I will definitely come back!!Thank you so so much.“
“one of my new favorite spots in Long Beach. So far l've tried the Baja fish tacos 10/10! & the pollo asado bowl, the chicken was well seasoned & flavorful. They also have freshly homemade corn tortillas. I definitely want to try more items from La Chancla. Also love the authenticity/ aesthetic & great service.“
“I love this place, they have a good happy hour and their drinks are stiff! Super friendly staff and nice patio vibes. My only issue is that sometimes they run out of food. They have different events throughout the week, so check their website before you stop on by.“
“We tried this restaurant for the first time last night and it was AMAZING! The food was delicious, super fresh with bright flavors. The service was great, the booth was comfy, and everyone there made us feel as welcome as if we were regulars.Recommended dishes include the whole fried tilapia, the camarones in garlic sauce, the chicken fajitas, and the chile rellano.Kid-friendliness: Lots of families with kids.“
“What a great neighborhood bar. with a friendly feel and great customer service. The prices are good and the foods delicious.Parking: Parking is the one thing that can be a challenge. When they get busy, nobody likes to be blocked in and people take up two parking spots.Wheelchair accessibility: Both the front and the back entrance have wheelchair accessibility.“
“Been here a bunch of times...but headed in today for the 2nd anniversary. Had the chilaquiles for the first time and omg? So good! Love their green sauce...tiny bit spicy-heads up for those that don't like that. Sooo good! Fish tacos (not mine) were really good from what I hear. Nice little seating area...right by a laundromat if you need to wash your clothes. Great neighborhood spot. Everything I've ever had has been amazing ???Highly recommend! Great parking. Support small business!“
“So many plant based protein options!! I got the carne asada burrito which was pretty great but I wish there was a little more variety in the filling. Followed up with a crispy potato taco which was amazing - so crispy and good. And then, since they were about to close, they gave us a free churro donut and it was so delicious! Excited to come back and try more plant proteins in taco form. Patio seating decor is so cute but they do have indoor seats too.“

We ordered the Dish that is served in a stone bowl ..cant remember the Mexican name for it ..,but the Carne Asada, Shrimp, Chicken. Chorizo Cheese is ALL served neatly in this huge bowl also with Salsa.. the homemade Flour Tortillas are epic.. this dish is big enough for 2.. which we split.. order extra flour tortillas... the drinks were awesome.. Various Margaritas.. are made quite well.. and the cold Modello in the tall, cold , 21 oz. Glass is perfect.. we got there at 12 noon .. and the place started filling up fast.. so im assuming this place is pretty popular.. so get to breakfast, lunch , or dinner.. early.. our servers were right on point and timely too.. even the Manager.. came by just to make sure everything was perfect.. All in All .. Los Compadres in Long Beach ..,is one of the best Mexican restaurants we've dined at in a long time.. so if youre looking for authentic, Tasty, great Mexican food . You must try Los Compadres..,on Anaheim street in Long Beach.. you wont be disappointed...!!!“
“Authentic, consistent, and addictive food with the best service and pleasant people! My husband has been going to Panchos since he was a child with his parents (when they first opened) to now...we drive from San Clemente to Long Beach every week with our adult children (someday with our grandchildren!) We wish they could open a second restaurant closer, but not certain they could replicate the original!!Vegetarian options: Cheese enchiladas are awesome, bean tostada, Chile rellano, salad with their signature thousand island dressing, nachos, and their chips and salsa are wonderful“
“Before heading to visit 'Eclipsed Emporium' I was suggested by my wife to come and check out this place. She had seen it a few times driving by before. We came in for dinner and to our surprise they had pretty good Mexican food. Chips & salsas were homemade and delicious. She & I both had their Molé Burritos and our daughter had their Chicken Burrito.Drinks to accompany were Mango Margarita, Iced Tea, and Horchata. To end the meal we had their Churros & Horchata ice cream for dessert.Restaurant was clean, organized, their service was friendly & professional. Our waitress was above & beyond.Didn't remember her name, however she was very cute & bubbly. We would come back for their excellent service.“
“Wow that was way better than I hoped for.Chips and salsa, dark red sauce is a spicy bitter affair and the green sauce is a green aioli IE. egg yolks, olive oil, garlic and a bunch of secret things. It's crack in a ramikin. The rest was more than note worthy. Highly “
“First time trying this place, and all I can say is that the breakfast here exceeds my expectations! Although waiting time after we had ordered was kind of long but it's worth it! Parking wasn't easy. You will need to park at the residential curbside.“
“We were looking for a really good taco shop and we found it! The service was fantastic, the food portions are huge, the taste is authentic, and the prices are fair! We will definitely go back to Taco Shore the next time we are in Long Beach!“
“This place was reservations out that night but they made room for me at the bar. Service was really good and friendly. You must get the tots. I ate it even before taking a pic. ?. The red sauce for enchilada was really excellent. Ohh. And the fluffy Mexican rice is bomb. And they make the tortillas fresh. I have “
“My favorite place to grab ah burrito. They give you chips and salsa with the burrito. Price is reasonable and the burrito was big and tasty. I always receive my order promptly with good service. Also had ah Michelada here one day that was tasty.Parking: Only one parking space in front. I usually park in front of the driveway there to go in and order.“
“This place is a hidden gem for vegan Mexican food! They have one of the biggest options of plant-based ingredients in Long Beach as far as Mexican restaurants go. We felt so welcomed by everyone & has a laidback vibe. They have vegan fish fillets which was awesome as a burrito. The spicy mayo is homemade and one of the best I can think of. I wish the burrito came with rice, but it wasn't vegetarian/vegan so I did it Cali style with fries inside instead. The lunchtime happy hour was a nice bonus! Would love to see their vegan menu get all the praise & highlights it deserves. Will definitely be back!“
“We've been traveling for a decade about 15 miles once a week to eat at Baja Sonora on Clark near the Long Beach airport. Every meal is prepared hot and fresh when you order. You can watch because the kitchen is visible. The carnitas are my wife's favorite. She also loves the Caesar salad with chicken. Portions are large. You serve yourself to get freshly made tortilla rounds with a salsa bar. Parking can beva challenge during peak lunch and dinner times. Staff are friendly and the owner is often around greeting his guests. The menu is extensive and is displayed on a large wall board. Beer is available.“
“Great quick vegan tacos & tamales (GF) at affordable prices. Can buy tamales, individually, 1/2 or dozen. The salsa are very good. Too full to try bean or grilled mahi mahi tacos. Have alot of carnivorous options from tacos, burritis and plates. Unfortunately, didn't have time for beer or variety of very reasonably priced mimosas.“
“Did you say mariscos food truck?! They have all your marisco needs, so many good choices, look at their menu. Been here a couple times, both times were a success! Here are a few pictures from our last order. Great customer service, delicious food, happy stomach! LoL! They have a bar right across the way that sells soda/beer so it's convenient if you're looking to grab something to drink right away. They do have a few tables where you can sit down and eat if you would like to eat there. Will definitely come back.“
“These are seriously some crazy good tacos. The Meat quality is so tender and extremely flavorful. The tortilla are so good too they taste as if they are hecho de mano (im not sure if they are but literally so delicious) this is the first place where I’ll gladly eat both tortillas in the taco bc the tortilla is that good. I got everything added, which is onion, cilantro and which ever salsa they pair with the meat. Meats I picked were asada, al pastor and carnitas! The Al pastor was slightly too soft for my liking but flavor is really good. Most definitely coming back especially with the PRICE!! $2 per taco is unbeatable“
“Let me tell you this was very delicious to enjoy. I normally have a very high expectation when it comes to Mexican food but this definitely hit that. I ordered the tacos, the chicken, the Carne Asada and their adobada!! I was so impressed by their chicken because it’s not easy to really pull off and it was really delicious. I tried there mulitas in adobada I straight lick the plate clean! Also had their Carne Asada quesadilla and their latte and they were so so good. I even tried their Michelada and it was scrumptious! service was super friendly. Everyone was such great energy. And the restaurant is beautiful. It’s clean very well. Decorated everything branded very well.Oh, and they even make their own tortillas!!!“
“Went here for a business lunch, had the squash tacos which were a very tasty vegetarian option. They were accommodating of our ~15 person group last minute, helping to move tables on the patio together for us. Got food out in a reasonable amount of time for our large group.“
“If you're in Long Beach check this place out. It's off the beaten path and not as glitzy as the downtown area a block away but we've come here two years in a row during our daughter's regional cheer competition. The staff has always been super friendly and the food is on point. Plus, they have decent prices on HUGE beers and their micheladas are stellar.“
“We got breakfast burritos, sausage and machaca. Really good, and we both got chips and a generous bag of salsa, ketchup, and tapatio. The horchata is very cinnamonny, which I really love. Looking forward to returning for a non-breakfast meal.“
“Today, I was in the area and decided to check out Marilus Bakery. I dont know what to get, but my server recommended the Chapin breakfast (Guatemalan style). Wow, amazing! Eggs, cheese, beans, sausage, thick tortillas, fried plantains, sweet bread, and if you ask, they give you hot sauces that they make. The red one is very spicy! The coffee was perfect and strong. They have other foods, juices, coffees and a lot of pan dulce. Very welcoming and helpful.“
“Excellent place and location. I grew up around here, did educated training near here, gained assistance during my homeless time on the streets, gain many gay and lesbian locations, events, housing and support groups. The food we all eat together here, has to be from this local amazing restaurant and excellent service.“
“This place I haven't been too in awhile but I came for a breakfast burrito.... Sure definitely made my Brunch well worth my day.... And the Cashier ....she was amazing helping out a friend of mine who is a Brazilian from Brazil. I Ordered the ABC BURRITO.... I didn't expect this but when I read it.... Made me crave it.... It was Avocado, Brisket, and Cheese.....and Also Had Potatoes added but wow, My life was perfect with a side of Horchata Cafe. I'm not much of a Horchata guy because cinnamon leaves an after taste that I didn't like but in THIS CASE.... Horchata Cafe was my life THAT MORNING. It was a mixture of like a ice coffee with that good cinnamon hit where it didn't leave that weird after taste of cinnamon. I was impressed for sure. When I got my Burrito it took awhile but it was WORTH THE WAIT!!. I TOOK MY FIRST BITE with no Verde sauce added.... That gooey light cheese melt made it amazing. "I felt like I can fly took me to another place ",(Speaking) but what cam next wae the bite i wanted.... I had that Juicy Smoked brisket fresh hot with avocado and cheese..... Got me in my feelings of just being Satisfied. For sure I would go back and order this again.!! Amazing!! That Smoked BRIKSET BREAKFAST BURRITO THO!!! I recommend it if you haven't tried it!! Thanks Hole Mole!!“
“The food was good. The service was great.I had an order or Carne Asada fries, along with a chicken quesadilla and a cucumber pineapple agua(water). The fries were well seasoned, and the meat was cooked well, not dry or bland. The chicken quesadilla was also good, nothing too amazing or out of this world. Typical chicken quesadilla. The cucumber pineapple water was a bit sweet for my taste but good. Their salsas were actually pretty good in flavor. They had a strong lemony taste. The guacamole was literally nothing other than mashed to avocado with some lemon. But it didn't have the Pico de gallo that you'd normally expect in a guacamole salsa.“
“Excellent place, it was our first time here, visiting from Texas, and it was an incredible place, we enjoyed a varied shrimp cocktail, a molcajete and two dishes for children, all the food was great and had a good flavor for a dish in another state . Congratulations to the host and the waitress, they had very good service at all times. We also enjoyed melted cheese with chorizo and hand-made corn tortillas. I left delighted with this place!! Without a doubt my expectations were great for this place!! I would go again!Parking: The location was excellent, only parking was very difficult to find.“
“The quesabirria was bomb!!! I got all 3 salsas and each of them complimented the food so well and was spicy just as should be. Birria was soft and flavorful. My favorite is that the tortillas tasted like they're made from scratch, either that or they buy some bomb ass authentic tortillas.Bite into it and it's crunchy, could honestly use a lil extra cheese but that's just me, and then the juicy carne with the consomé and salsa... omg fireee! Literally!! Highly highly recommend! As far as the service, it was average but not in a bad way.“
“This place reminds me of the amazing restaurants in the city of Mexico (MCDC, something). The ambiance is clean, cool and collected. I love the lighting, the design of every corner. Exceptional vibe. The drinks are all carefully crafted and taste delicious. The food is unique and has its own twist on traditional can dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant for a fun date night or to take clients out.“
