“We had the best experience at Bubu’s restaurant. My husband tried the albondigas (meatballs) in a chipotle sauce. They were delicious and the tasted just like those my Mexican grandma used to cook. Not too spicy, not too watery. Everything else was equally authentic and delicious. The handmade tortillas make the experience unique.
The service was wonderful and we met Jesus, the chef, who takes great pride in his cooking. Worth visiting! Even if the location and humble look of the place are deceiving, it’s worth visiting!“

“I finally have a local, good, and cost effective place near my house. So far I’ve had their cheese burger and fish ceviche. The burger was big and juicy. The fries were great. The fish ceviche was spiced so if you don’t like spice like me, ask them to put the vinaigrette on the side and add to your liking. But a good overall place that I recommend. They also do take out and call in for pick up. They do Door Dash and Grub hub too.“

“The people here are really sweet! I came in to grab a snack to-go after a long days work in construction, and they treated me so well. The chef hand delivered my food to my table, and the cashier made sure that I had everything with my order. Food tastes 100x better when made by people who cares about you. 10/10 would come again“

“Fantastic hidden gem! Located in north long beach, this authentic Mexican restaurant is absolutely delicious. They have plenty of nostalgic dishes that you may remember a loved cooking for you. They have soups, tacos, and special dishes such as costillitas con nopales. I was left very much happily satisfied. Parking is a nightmare, they have a small lot. It is a mom and pop shop, so please keep that in mind when you arrive. Seating is extremely limited, but they have a couple chairs out front to ensure you're taken care of. Please tip if you can as I'm positive a place like this is not common anymore these days. The ladies who serve and take orders have the most cute uniforms and friendliest of service. Anything upon request!!! Please ask before you do. They have a specific seating order and will be happy to accommodate when you ask! Oh they do serve alcohol, beers and margaritas 😬“

“The carnitas and birria tacos were great! I tried the baja fish taco also and it tasted like old oil. It was a really small piece of fish, so I ate the whole thing hoping to make it better by adding the pickled onions. The mango margaritas tasted perfect!“

“We were looking for a vegetarian/ vegan Mexican restaurant and came across this hidden gem.

We were amazingly surprised by how delicious the food was. The atmosphere is very chill and gives cozy Mexican vibes.

We started with the corn ribs with the sauce which were amazing. 10/10. We got the “carne asada” burrito and three tacos; “carne asada”, “carnitas”, and the “shrimp”. I love the shrimp taco. My husband really likes the carne asada burrito.

We are definitely coming back to try their other dishes/ choice of protein.“

Unfortunately, during our visit, there was a family being extremely loud, with kids running up and down the restaurant, which made it a little difficult to fully enjoy the atmosphere. That said, I know that’s not something the restaurant can necessarily control.

Overall, Komo Cocina is an amazing spot with great food, drinks, and incredible staff. I would absolutely recommend it, and I’ll definitely be coming back! 🌮🍹✨“

The menu is huge so we'll be back to try more dishes.
Also, the hostess was so kind and told us about the food and the dishes and how they pick the best meat for soup vs for tacos or other stuff. Very impressed.
