Check out our list of the best Mexican restaurants in Wilmington.
“Went here after seeing a postive post from someone in a Wilmington Chronicles group. I drive for Uber and pass this place often not even thinking about it. I don't speak Spanish, so communication is a little difficult for me but I just try to point to the things I'd like. A bit expensive but the tacos are indeed worth it ?. Would've given 5 stars but the cashier is always frowning/mean.“
“What a fantastic Yelp find! La Taqueria Brand is well-deserving of their 4.5 stars!! First of all this place is very clean and has a nice indoor eating area and a nice outdoor eating area. You can come inside and order, order from the outside window or go through the drive-up window. They have an amazing salsa bar with avocado salsa, raw salsa, fire roasted tomatillo, habanero salsa, pickled jalapeños, cucumbers, pinto beans, grilled jalapeños and grilled onions - and all were excellent. On to the food. All the food that we had here was spectacular! The lady taking our order recommended the Canajillo Shrimp Burrito ($13.99) which is a hot flour tortilla, wonderfully seasoned Mexican rice, shredded white cheese, cabbage, pick de gallo, cilantro crema & smoked adobo mustard dressing - and it was out of this world! My girlfriend got the Lt Plato ($10.99) which was your choice of protein (she got asada), rice, refried beans, lettuce, pico de gallo & crema - and it too was spectacular! I couldn't resist the homemade Horchata ($5.50) which was one of the best I've ever had. She also gave us a Micheagus ($7.00) drink which was amazing. We also got their homemade Churros ($7.50) They were soft and donut like inside and crispy outside...and these actually were the best churros I have ever had - and I don't say that lightly, they were legit the best I've EVER had! I can't believe how good this entire meal was! I had to do this review right away because I do t want forget this place next time I'm in Wilmington. Well done La Taqueria Brand - we will definitely be back!! I really want to try their Birria Ramen ($13.99) which looks like a very innovative crossover.“
“I tried the carne asada burrito for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. I will definitely be coming back. The best part of this burrito is they don't chop the meat up into little tiny pieces like most places. Awesome taste as well.“
“Been coming here for awhile. The Oso burrito is on fire! Pretty spicy. I highly recommend you try this if you like spicy hot food. Great flavor! I've heard their menudo is really good. Have not had the chance to try it due to it selling out quick. I guess i have to get up super early next time i come down.“
“This was, by far, the BEST meal I had in Cali! This Seafood (mix) Burrito was outstanding & the bang for your dollar was epic; very affordable; excellent quality! If you are ANYWHERE near this place, you MUST to go! Hands down, awesome food, great value! As you can see, I liked it & fortunately took a picture before it was gone! Ceviche is excellent also! Way good & way yummy!Kid-friendliness: Couple of families were there!“
“The food here is honestly so good! It's definitely got that homemade feel to it and their sweet are just as good, it's honestly hard to pick a favorite. It's a family owned business so you'll usually get your order taken by an elderly woman. She's super sweet and even when she does get your order wrong they always fix it right away. The only real complaint is that there's no AC so it can be hot if you eat inside but it's cutely decorated and there's enough space for the whole family to eat.“
“The menudo is great. If your looking for something different for breakfast try The Lola. Hash brown potatoes layered with two chicken enchiladas covered in green sauce with a fried egg on top. Delicious!!! If I’m not having the menudo I’m having that.“
“Little whole on the wall are always the best ,this place right here is and the place to be , food is fresh , delicious, and great customer services my son order 2 tostada de ceviche which they made fresh and literally they served him so much that it came out to 6 tostada in total , My self I order A ,7 sea soups which was delicious . Most of their drinks are either home made or imported from Mexico . I will definitely come back“
“I absolutely loved it here. We were in town for a weekend and we came twice. The food is amazing, the drinks even more amazing and the customer service was a 10/10. Nessa helped us both times and was awesome. Great customer service. Such a great little coffee shop.“
“The best tamales in south Bay Area, harbor area, Los Angeles. But come on , the prices are too high. They play with them , they spike and drop. It use to be 22 for a dozen then 24 now it's $30. I am a loyal customer for years but you can't just change those prices dramatically. You loose customers. Currently boycotting lol“
“2nd time we have eaten there in the last two nights! Great Mexican food all around. So far, we've had various tacos and burritos and the Chili Verde plate. Can't wait to go back to try more things. Fun atmosphere inside with Karaoke on the weekends too. The lady at the register (possibly the owner) was so friendly and kind as was the young lady who waited on us while we waited for a Togo. Great salsa and ice cold beer as well. 10/10“
“The flavor was very tasty. All orders come with a choice of corn or flour tortillas & freshly made salsa. There was very little wait time & the staff is super friendly. They do have a ATM just in case you need cash. It's seems that places like this are not easy to go to because of location . Besides that, it's kept very clean.“

“I discovered this establishment through Yelp, a reliable source for finding reputable businesses. We happened to be in the vicinity and sought out a restaurant where we could leisurely enjoy a refreshing beer while awaiting our friend's arrival. Our server, Miriam, provided exceptional service. She exuded warmth and friendliness, sporting a radiant smile, and even offered us insightful recommendations from their extensive menu.To commence our dining experience, this establishment welcomes patrons with a delightful combination of chips and chicharrones, complemented by a unique salsa. The salsa itself was both fresh and delectable. For our appetizer, we opted for a shrimp quesadilla, which was generously filled with succulent shrimp. When it arrived at our table, the taste surpassed our expectations, earning the unanimous approval of both my daughter and husband. In fact, they were so enamored with the dish that they playfully vied for the remaining crumbs.I indulged in their exquisite michelada mix, which proved to be a delightful choice. Additionally, their assortment of salsas proved to be equally exceptional.Regardless of where one chooses to sit, they are guaranteed the opportunity to catch an enthralling game on any day of the week. Undoubtedly, this establishment is an undiscovered treasure, making it an ideal destination for families seeking a memorable seafood experience. However, even if seafood is not your preference, rest assured that they offer a selection of alternative dishes that will satisfy even the most discerning palate.“
“Just try it. I love this place, it is perfect for large families and businesses on a budget during the.pandemic. The bargains can not be beat. This restaurant specializes in large family-style take out and special occasion deserts. But the locals know a secret about how to get the best deal here, which I will share with you. Coffee and pastry, about a dollar. Loaves of fresh baked bread, cheap. A dozen fresh pastry, a few bucks. Watch the chickens spin to tasty perfection as you pick up a couple whole chickens with fresh tortillas, large sides, and pan de leche. In other words, food for the week! Get a warm welcome no matter where you're from. Free parking. On point jello selection. And rice pudding. Gluten free. Most of the take out food is gluten free, like a lot of Latin restaurants. It smells like a cinnamon cupcake. Free parking lot. Check this place out!“
“Came back a few days later for lunch and ordered the: Bistec de Ranchero, which is cooked with chunks of beef steak, sautéed onions, bell pepper, and tomatoes in a mild red sauce! The dish is big enough for you to eat and enjoy it later. The beans are creamy with good taste, adding very good red rice. Again, Maria provided great service and is very attentive and does everything for you to have a great eating experience! gracias Maria! la quapa!“
